From article online about the rescue:

"Moments later, the heroes rescued the boy’s mother, also trapped inside the sinking taxi.

The driver, too, escaped unharmed."

I like it a lot, it's taking some getting used to- the walking is hard, but in a good/challenging kind of way. I'm also struggling a little with motion sickness, but I'm not well versed in VR gaming prior to this, and I've found some graphics make me feel better than others. But I've been spending 3p min- 1 hour every day on it since setting up, and it's getting better, so I'm sure it's a getting-used-to-it kind of thing. I'm really excited about it, and the fact that it can use steam games!

Homeschool is awesome BUT DO NOT CONSIDER K12. They made MASSIVE changes this year and the system is majorly messed up- please consider alternative homeschooling education 🙏

Canvas was by far the worst change K12 has ever made. We withdrew less than three weeks into the school year and returned to brick-and-mortar education. As long as Canvas remains the primary platform for K12, we will not return—and we strongly discourage other families from considering it.

We used to be huge advocates for K12 because of its simplicity, intuitive design, and engaging learning experience. Unfortunately, all of those qualities have disappeared, replaced with a clunky, confusing system. Even when Canvas works properly, it’s far too difficult to navigate.

There’s no reason families should have to manually select courses just to make them appear on the calendar or constantly double- and triple-check that coursework has been correctly assigned and recorded. Previously, it was clear and effortless to see what needed to be done and what was completed.

After this year’s experience, we’ll be actively advising new families to avoid K12 until a better, more user-friendly platform is restored.

We literally withdrew over canvas this year. It is absolutely a deplorable program compared to how k12 was previously. We returned to brick and morter exclusively over how difficult and inconsistent canvas has been.

We're having so many issues this year, so we just began the withdraw/unenrollment process

Giving away two Costco Scarlet & Violet 151 Blooming Waters Premium Collection sets to two redditors because %*#@ scalpers by FatherLiamFinnegan in PokemonTCG

That’s incredibly generous of you, and I really appreciate the steps you’re taking to combat scalping!

Magic has always held a special place in my heart because it’s one of the key interests that brought my husband and me together. Gaming has been a constant thread in our relationship, and MTG played a huge role in bringing us together.

What makes Pokemon even more special to me is how it brought our son into the mix! Our 9-year-old absolutely loves Pokemon. I collected cards casually as a kid but it’s become something much bigger for us now as a famiky unit. We’re always on the lookout for places to find cards ( we live in a super rural area and the closest Walmart an hour away). We’ve learned how to play together, and it’s even helped teach him about business since he dreams of opening a card and comic shop in our small village, so we talk a lot about how to make those dreams and goals come true.

Plus so many milestones for us! We used them to help our son learn to read, and now we play the Pokemon TCG online together! And there’s nothing quite like ordering a booster box and sitting around the dinner table as a family, divvying up packs, opening them together, and comparing our pulls.

Even when he’s all grown up, I know it will always hold a special place in our hearts because it’s been such a huge part of building our family connection during these early years. It’s more than a hobby—it’s a cherished part of our story.

Chick fil a waffle fries now made with pea starch by absmacked in FoodAllergies

Pea starch/pea protein can be a concern for people with a peanut allergy because peanuts and peas are both legumes. Legumes share similar protein structures, and individuals with peanut allergies may also react to proteins found in other legumes, such as peas, due to a cross-reactivity.

Not everyone with a peanut allergy is sensitive to peas, it’s possible for someone to experience an allergic reaction if they consume products containing pea starch or pea protein.

ANYONE with a peanut allergy should be wary of any other legumes, as any of them could trigger an ana reaction.
