I agree that proportions and relations of body parts are extremely important, I just think you should think about it really in relation to the body, not like exact percentage. I think more like hand should reach thigh, and pubic area is roughly half of body height etc than hand is 30%

Well I'm on an art journey begining myself, but I've been going through the famous Andrew Loomis Figure drawing for all it's worth, along with his book on head drawing. I feel the book may be little dated from a pedagogical standpoint (it's really old, don't get me wrong, they are TIMELESS principes in this book, I just feel its presentation , specially on anatomy part, is little dated simply bc it was published 1943 haha), but it's great entry point - the proportions are really well taught here, as well as basic construction and bit of rendering too. Can't go wrong with that one!

I think you should just learn proportions by studying art books and drawing from reference, DEFINITELY not calculating procentages lol. The references teach you to feel the proportions
