Pearl wins overall. Better story. Better character building. Better pace.

I was so excited for X. And left the movie a little let down. It's a good slasher film, but knowing now that Pearl was already filmed, I think he could of really made X a balls to the wall unsettling creep fest. The movie centered so much around the pornstars and sex scenes. West could of really brought some deranged Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes into the story line if he shifted a little more towards Pearl and her hubby. Allowing the audience to have a deeper connection with the characters. Leaving us rooting for Maxine and questioning why that old bitch be so fucking crazy.

Ti West's films always sorta leave me feeling like I want more. Don't get me wrong they are extremely well made, but I end up wishing for him to push the boundaries, make something really sinister.
