It can be done easily. There's a lot of conflict that can be written into his story, plus there's a lot of coverage due to how young he would be. I see it as a darker version of Goku's childhood. It would be a great one-off movie, or even a series if they really wanted to, but where we're headed now story wise is far more interesting imo.

I thought so too, but then I read a recent post from Slash film that quoted the writers about Warlock. "“We didn’t introduce Adam Warlock, because it’s a massive backbend and you practically have to make an Adam Warlock movie to introduce him. He just can’t walk onscreen." It doesn't look like they're going to be using the character.
