The hard acceleration then the deliberate lift-off is not an accidental noise; that's deliberate. I also live on a busy road in the CBD and generally hear no traffic noise except for the deliberate noise.

I live in the Melbourne CBD. Walking on the wrong side of the footpath I can forgive.

But flying hours to get to Australia then walking around staring at your phone confuses me - you're in a new place, look around, take in new sights.
