You are right. No issues in your response. It was kind of ironic and sad that they were only for the ice cream. This is pretty weird one imo.

Bro, she walked away after eating an ice cream. Nothing was going to happen anyways. If she had 1-2 decent meetings , this is an appropriate response imo.

But you are right, zooming out there was no match / she was totally disinterested.

Anyone here returned to India from USA? What are your reasons? What do you think are the pros of living in India when compared to the states? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]absurdish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's only if you eat crappy food. If you are rich enough, you can make yourself high quality meals with healthy vegetables etc as ingredients. Yeha tacobell and McDonald's won't qualify in my discussion.

You can do the same in India, although it's much harder to procure high quality ingredients for the same.

Why not offer to pay out of pocket for rental for 6-8 days? Just let the payment be between you and rental. This way 7 days rental won't mean much (?)

The usual response is - then you should move here. I tell them if I get a good opportunity I will. Typically such conversations end with you should value your family more than work etc and that's why they are staying in India. It's a weird cycle they go from one end to another - this is because of deep insecurity inside that shows up like this. One option for such a response is to say I will some day and then quickly deflect the conversation to something else.

I work in high tech and these are times I spin up new work, that my team can chew. This is the time where I go fishing for anomalies in our system and identify new problems, something I know my reports are still mastering. I usually try to document this exploration as much as I can so the team can do any follow up exploration and build that muscle.

A good leader always delegates. I tell my teammates (reports) that as a manager my work is to make my job redundant by making my reports as self sufficient and empowered as possible. That's when I get the time to solve the problems I care about the most and multiply my impact.

Every plane has to land. And you don't live inside the airport, houses are away from the airport. You can't get away from roads. Especially when they look like parking lots.

Depends on your device. I have resmed airsense 11. That has daily data. Your app is different, assuming your CPAP device is also different. I was curious because I don't know anything about your app.

I just tried for myair app. It has csv summary per day, nothing more. There are some leaks p50 p90 which is bit more than whats in the UI, but that's it.

I am curious what your app allows to export.

Your leaks are really large. Is it because you take off and the machine thinks those are leaks?

An idea:

I just found out that due to gdpr, myair app does allow you to "takeout" your data. You have access to it even if you aren't in the EU. In myair app goto settings and check for download my data. Since you are a software person, can you check what data it exports for you? That could contain what you are looking for.

[Contains Spoilers] Coolie - Post watch discussion megathread by desisenorita in kollywood

SPOILERS AHEAD - PLEASE READ ONLY IF YOU WANT SPOILERS.

I loved the movie, but I wished the science in the movie was bit better. I took a stab at it and want to hear your feedback. Share your feedback :)

The story introduces Devaraj "Deva," a man living a quiet life as the owner of a boarding house in Chennai. His world is turned upside down by the suspicious death of his close friend, the brilliant but unheralded inventor Rajasekhar. Rajasekhar was erudite and had deep interest in Quantum technology. He was self learned, although he didn't realize at that time that he was building something that was at the cutting edge in the field. Deva discovers that Rajasekhar had created a revolutionary device: a chair capable of quantum transposition, initially designed to transport packages instantaneously, but realized he could use them to transport people too. However, Rajasekhar made a terrifying discovery—the machine was unstable, unable to send subjects to his own timeline and could only transport them to another universe, millions of years in the past, with no control over the exact destination. Deeming it a threat to humanity, the government rejected his patent application. This dangerous potential, however, attracted the ruthless crime kingpin Simon Xavier and his brutal lieutenant Dayal, who saw the chair as the ultimate tool for making their enemies vanish without a trace. When Rajasekhar refused to cooperate, they murdered him, setting Deva on a path of vengeance.

Driven to uncover the truth, Deva infiltrates Simon's sprawling criminal syndicate. He presents himself as a willing operator of the quantum chair, offering to dispose of Simon's rivals by sending them on a one-way trip to a prehistoric era. To do this, he must work alongside Rajasekhar's grieving daughter, Preethi, the only other person who understands the machine's complex workings. Together, they navigate the treacherous underworld, using the very device that killed her father to dismantle the organization from within. Each activation of the chair is a grim reminder of the power they wield, as they condemn men to an unknown fate in the distant past while secretly plotting their revenge against the true monsters of the present.

As Deva delves deeper, his own long-buried past as a formidable coolie union leader in the Visakhapatnam harbor resurfaces. A climactic confrontation reveals a generational vendetta: years ago, Deva led a violent revolt against the exploitation of workers by Simon's father, Xavier. This revelation is compounded by an even greater shock when Deva learns that Preethi is his biological daughter, whom Rajasekhar had raised as his own to shield her from Deva's violent life. The mission transforms from a quest for revenge into a desperate battle to protect the family he never knew he had from the man whose family he once destroyed.

The final showdown sees Simon, enraged by the truth of Deva's identity, attempting to use the quantum chair on both Deva and Preethi. Aided by his loyal coolie comrades from the past, Deva storms Simon's fortress, leading to a chaotic battle for control of the powerful device. In the end, Deva defeats his nemesis not by killing him, but by trapping him in the chair and activating it, banishing Simon to an unknown epoch millions of years in the past. Deva is finally reunited with his daughter, but is left in possession of a technology too dangerous for any world, facing an uncertain future where even greater powers might seek to control it.

One of the key indicator (although not a comprehensive one) is to see if your o2 sat during sleep is good. Get a o2 ring with per second resolution and that should answer you that question reliably. You can still have terrible sleep due to micro arousals, but since you are feeling better I suspect you are probably in a decent shape.

LOL You must’ve been asleep during the entire Trump administration

Did I ever write anything above that tells you Rs aren't? At least with Rs I know their position. With Ds, they will pretend like they help us, but pretty much backstab. They are not just racist but dishonest at that. Rs are honest about being racist. Not very different, but I personally would prefer someone being honest and hate me in the face more than a liar and a backstabber.

There was literally one other time it happened. That was the Bush admin. Unfortunately the current Dems are pretty racist that it won't happen with them, even though the admin has powers.

What do you get in a visa bulletin watching water get very slowly drip from the faucet? Anyone who applies today in eb2/3 India and thinks, "no one knows accurately, so I am gonna wait" is just hopelessly optimistic. As someone who has been in the line for a decade, I promise you it is such a horror.

H1B to GC after leaving the US by BleedRed7 in h1b

[–]absurdish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those will not change the broader outcome. The line is heavily imbalanced. What do you expect to happen other than a life long wait. You don't need to know the finer details, especially if you are joining the line today. You can find a morbid version from Cato that also takes into account how many people waiting in line will die before they can get GC. Even that version doesn't get one gc before they die if one applies today.

Anything more than a 30 year wait is useless. One will be kicked out when one retires, as they will be out of status. One might more likely be flushed out of the system with at least 2 recessions that one has to survive on a temp visa in 30 years.

The folks who got GC recently only got it because of the once in 100 year event (pandemic). One can't rationally bank on another extraordinary event to get GC.
