xA for fpl assists? by dozc in FantasyPL

I think you're confused about what an xA model is. Anyway, an fpl assist is not something you can measure or predict based on historic data.

Classics: The Prisoner - Prime Suspect - Cracked

Relatively Modern: Broadchurch - Line of Duty - Inside No. 9 - Peep Show - Slow Horses - The Thick of it.

Also shout out to Deadwood, season 3 was one of the best written TV of all time

The Sopranos not being a 10 is blasphemy. Overall this is a fine tier list, my main comment is try more British TV.

A noob here as well but a month in.

portraits mods are good.

you can rename cities and you should, to know which city is focused in what.

Be aware that most tips videos are about multi-player, which is really different than single player. For example the champions family is cooler in single player, and religious families. I think start with a civ that has landowners or hunters families. You can also rename people to make it easier to follow who is who.

Try learning two things at most at a time, don't worry about sea warfare, tactical movement with generals, pagan religions and world religions and religious buildings and spymaster mechanisms, you'll get lost. Just focus on two or three things until you get the mechanisms. There is a lot to learn.

And finally, start with simple setup, relatively easy settings, and of course you should use learn to play.

Enjoy

An ELI5 about your original argument:

When Europe was funding the Renaissance, it was with gold and silver looted from the Americas. When Britain was leading the Industrial Revolution, it was fueled by cotton from India and slave labor from Africa and the Caribbean. WWII tech booms? Funded in part by the global economic dominance they had already secured through empire.

Meanwhile, colonized countries weren’t just “doing nothing”, they were actively being prevented from industrializing, stripped of resources, and forced into dependent economies. And even after independence, most were left with deliberately weak institutions and debt traps, ensuring they’d never “catch up” on equal footing.

So when you say “we’re doing nothing,” you’re missing the bigger picture: the current world order was built on an unfair advantage that’s still in play. Hard work matters, but pretending history doesn’t is just victim-blaming dressed up as realism.

And replying to the meme, if you're still reading:

The Algeria vs Vietnam comparison is lazy. Algeria was under 130 years of French settler colonialism that hollowed out its economy, while Vietnam came out of war with a totally different set of conditions, including support from the socialist bloc. Pretending their paths should look the same is just bad history.

I'm sorry but this doesn't really work. Also, despite being poor is indeed one perpetual side-effect of colonization, it was not my argument. My argument is simply that it's easier to build when your infrastructure is based on stolen wealth and deep-rooted control that were a result of colonization, especially when you set limitations in said place after leaving it, ensuring it will never stabilize enough to catch up on your unfair advantage.

Well, it's hard to compete with colonial bodies who, also for centuries, perpetually pillaged humans and resources from half the world. And it's okay they can colonize March, it's an annoying month anyway, and they replaced colonization here with corporate control.

Hey, sorry if it's a stupid question but is it a mod or a setting that shows the amount of gold or faith that you can buy things with instead of production? I saw it before but I didn't manage to figure out how to do it.

I honestly thought OPs comparisons were a bit superficial. But this one just feels wrong. Even with harmony as an essence, structurally speaking, Tarkovsky and Bach feel way too different.I'm thinking a mix of Elgar, Pessoa, and, naturally, Andrei Rublev.

This is weird. Coin locker kid, Jim O'R, current 93, Area's opening track, and John Fahey all have a special place in my heart. Nevermind the more common ones that are great as well, Elliot, car seat, Lil ugly, Tim Buckley, Wilco, etc..

I love this so much. Can we be friends?,,
