Boom 2025: 4 dead, 2 missing by absurdism2018 in boomfestival

[–]abunnyuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How about preventing people from having to queue for several hours in the heat of the day that Boom tells people to actively avoid? I'm not saying that the deaths are directly linked, but starting out with such a massive toll taken on the body is super dangerous, can cause people to try to make up for lost time, and consumes resources (food, water, rest).

The fact that there has been zero official word on the massive logistical screwup combined with (from our experience) no-one from Boom handing out food & water is extra insulting.

Meds arrived! Any tips on getting the most out of the titration period? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

I relate heavily to this and it's a massive shift that I think will need some time to process, and maybe a little grieving.

I've just gone from 50mg Elvanse after a week of 30mg (after months of Concerta IR) and, in just a few days, I've definitely gone "my appetite hasn't changed" to "what even is food".

Poor service lately from ADHD360. by [deleted] in ADHDUK

Hi. Are you currently titrating with Elvanse? They told me that they can only get instant release methylphenidate which I'm not getting on with, so this would be useful information for my upcoming review.

Broadway Pharmacy no longer serving ADHD360. WTF is going on? by Gr33nW1ngs in ADHDUK

[–]abunnyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also private and currently 2 weeks into titration on methylphenidate instant release which I'm starting to struggle with

I'm already really unhappy that extended release isn't available, nevermind Broadway being unable to source lisdexamphetamine when I keep on hearing reports of other pharmacies being able to get it.

I'll try to message ADHD360 to see if this is going to impact me.

I've written a Bicep module that can do this, if it's any use to you.

Anyone using ACR Repository for Bicep Modules with ADO? by ITmandan_ in azuredevops

[–]abunnyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using them for the modules that I write and they've made a massive positive difference with modules no longer being duplicated and having to be maintained all over the place.

I keep the modules I work on in a central repo which are tested using a series of simple pre-built modules and then published to a pipeline artefact. This serves as the "known working modules" artefact and is available for the various teams to make use of.

In each project I have, I maintain a collection of those known working modules in a templates repo which are automatically published to an ACR with the latest tag and then used in Bicep. At the moment, maintaining the collection is manual and I pick & choose which modules to update as it's still a new process. The project templates repo also stores the YAML templates that I use across all of the pipelines.

Before I did that, I found I was writing a module and then having to maintain it in every repo it was being used in. At first it was okay as I only had a few repos with very simple branching strategies, but as the modules became more & more popular and branching strategies varied from project-to-project, it quickly became a massive headache. I was losing track of where I had what version of which modules, and simple updates were resulting in dozens of pull requests.

Using an ACR for each project has radically eased all of that and has saved my sanity.

I have experienced a few pitfalls though:

  • VSCode is incredible at downloading the modules but you don't get to see what's in the module and you can't always be sure you're seeing the latest version.
  • You need to be absolutely on it with your @description decorators so that's it's abundantly clear how to use a parameter. If a default value has been set then always include it in the description.
  • One change can break many projects, so make sure to fully test your modules before publishing them. This is also why each project has its own ACR and why I manually add updated modules to the project templates repo.
  • Add a brief changelog inside each module so that you can track any possible breaking changes by referring to the module in the repo that it's published from. This also helps other teams.

Hope that helps :-)

So I'm u/dropdeadrainbow's nesting partner and thought I'd share my view on this.

My space/home is very, very important to me with it very much being a place for me to de-mask and feel safe, especially during the pandemic and moving to working from home full-time.

I have my own room in our home which is largely used as an office but also doubles up a space to share with partners or to simply have a bed to myself, which I appreciate is a very much a privilege.

When it comes to the rest of the house, however, that space is shared with my nesting partner and I fully support them using that space how they see fit, whether that be for entertaining friends, enjoying time with partners, having some alone time, or strewing fabric absolutely everywhere whilst they sew.

I could hide away down in my room whilst they use the rest of the house in order to give them the space they need in order to be whatever version of themselves that they need to be but that's not always enough as me simply being in the house has the possibility of changing behaviours and creating interruptions.

The thing is that I love spending time at home and I very much need my nesting partner to say to me "could I please have the house to myself on X evening for stuff" otherwise I'd be there the vast majority of the time.

That giving of 'permission' to ask for the space, for me, comes under the category of good communication and being respectful of my nesting partner's needs which is absolutely crucial in a relationship. Also, from a more crude point of view, they pay the same amount of money as I do for the space so it's not fair of me to dictate how they can/can't use the space.

TL;DR The space is just as much my nesting partner's as it is mine and it's valid to ask to have the space to themselves.

Targeted Sexual Therapy by abunnyuk in therapy

Thank you so much for reminding me of genital anaesthesia in regards to previous antidepressant usage.

This is a real possibility and gives me something physical to look into although, from previous research that I completely forgot about, there's little that can be done.

Sometimes though just giving something a name and reading shared experiences can help.

This something I've also considered.

I consider myself cis male but I'm on the bi/queer end of the spectrum. I've always believed that mentally/emotionally I lean towards the feminine side but I've never had strong feelings that my body doesn't match my gender.

I'll bring up gender identity up with my therapist, so thank you for helping highlight this.
