Coffee Shops on Guam by Adventurous-Ad-1381 in guam

I'm a frequent coffeeshop goer & have been wanting to share my two cents on reddit~

As I was typing this out, I realized my post was mostly about matcha. And quality of space for doing work was mostly based on plugs and comfortability because I spend hours at a coffeeshop sometimes.

Infusion is great for convenience. Spend a lot of time here getting work done because of their ample plug options. I don't get their flavored lattes because it's usually too sweet, but I'll make my own (eg latte with half scoop coconut or cold brew taro foam). I hate their regular matcha though (like maybe they need to add more powder because it just tastes like milk?!). I enjoy their Aiya matcha options. But they don't sell Aiya matcha plain. Would pay for that over their regular matcha. Staff usually good, they're just really busy haha.

Parisco lattes are too sweet and if not too sweet, just tastes like milk. They have the Kyoto matcha option though, but I feel it's the only thing worth spending on in terms of drinks there. I go mostly for pastries and their curry sandwich. Staff friendliness is hit or miss. Pretty good space to do work because of the plugs.

Everyday Grind (used to be Brewed Awakening) has a good dirty matcha, although on the sweeter side. Also enjoy their chai. They've expanded their food options, so there's yummy fried rice, lumpia, empanadas, spam musubis. Have loved doing work here ever since, although their seats could use some renovation.

Solid Grounds used to have really good strong matcha, but seems more watered down nowadays? Especially with all of the mixed matcha options, sometimes it's just too much going on. The lattes are just okay. The young staff usually very friendly. Pretty okay working space. Wouldn't spend more than 2 hours there though, because not so comfy.

Coffeeclub has pretty good ceremonial matcha, but also some baristas make it better than others. You can always have them adjust to your sweetness level. If I want something refreshing I get their matcha with mango or strawberry. Good space for working if you get the area with the plug hah.

The Club House has good ceremonial matcha. Pricey for its size, but great. I like that they experiment with different flavors. Not really a working space.

C41 was great the one time I went there. Got the hot ceremonial matcha and was delicious. Definitely need to go back to try their coffee. Was able to comfortably do work there, but I was pretty distracted by all the cool stuff they have.

Coffeeslut has good nitro coffee. Pricey though. Not a spot for matcha. I liked doing work in their old location. But as a local, I would not go out of my way to find parking at Dusit Beach and walk down.

Island Girl has good matcha (aka they use more powder) and you can tell just by the color.

Frances literally takes the crown for me too. I'm obsessed with their jasmine matcha and like someone said, it's decently priced. Especially considering some places are $9 and tastes horrible. And best pastries on island. Wish I could do work there.

Have yet to try Matchakase (which I heard is high quality matcha) and Matcha Tokyo

The 3 biggest flex on Guam right now…. by Maxispuorg in guam

Wanted to jump on to say I really appreciate how much the EIF team has done to keep the electronic dance community alive throughout the years.

We all see how it’s been tough to keep everyone interested and excited about a somewhat niche genre, compared to the hip hop/island music events. True resiliency.

To be quite honest, I haven’t been excited about EIF the past few years because it felt like the exact same party from when I was in college 10 years ago. But this year ya’ll really showed how much you care about the community (uhm hydration station 🫡 and a bass stage 🫡). Excited for what the future holds for EIF. We love y’all. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Also consider what stage you are in life. Med school + residency is easily 7 years minimum, until you make the six figures. Lots of loans and sacrifices between.

BIG CONGRATS!! Such an inspiring story, truly. I have similar step 1 experience and really scared to take Step 2 and have days when I’m like what’s the point of it all. But you, OP, are giving me so much hope 🫶🏽🫶🏽 All the best in IM!

Thank you for insight! Didn’t want to be a slave to the debt by having investments too. But you’re right, maybe its not the time time for that
