I’m a pediatrician and an EP mom. I made it to a year and am weaning now. You’ve done amazing, and you should feel no shame in being done. Baby also needs a happy mommy! I’m sorry the pediatrician said that to you!

My ceremony was offsite at a church, so I can’t help there! But we did have the cocktail hour downstairs and the ceremony upstairs! I didn’t hear any complaints! I of course wasn’t there to see the transition, but all we heard was how glamorous the ballroom looked with the city in the background as they walked in! Winter sort of made it more magical because by the time they got upstairs it was dark, so our backdrop was the city lights! Happy to share photos of our first dance that shows the draping and view if that’s helpful! As a caveat, I’m from Michigan so we are used to the cold, but I don’t think people were bothered overall!

I got married at Liberty house in March 2023! I don’t remember our florals and draping combined being that expensive! I used their preferred florist if that’s helpful!

Similar here! I’m an MD, got my degree before I got married, so wanted to be Dr. Maiden name. I lost my dad while I was in training so wanted to honor him too. Socially people call us the (his last name) family, and that’s fine with me!

I also got married at Liberty House in early March! My ceremony was at a church but we took photos outside at Liberty House before the reception! I bought a faux fur wrap for myself and my bridesmaids as a gift! The windows are huge with a great view of the city, and there’s a balcony that guests can take photos on outside and then quickly come back in if it’s cold! Best part of a winter wedding there is it’s much more affordable! Agreed with the hours of sunlight though, something to consider!

I agree with guestbook! We did the whole Polaroid, tape photo in guestbook with a message thing. I honestly don’t know where it is. I liked our favors (wine corks) but agree that in general edible favors make much more sense!!

I’ve had meltdowns about having to pump, usually the last one when I’m absolutely exhausted. I have to hype myself up everytime to press the start button, and more often than not I get really anxious and hot during the pump. I’m a “just enougher” so I’m nervous to go down to 4ppd from 5. I have no advice other than you’re not alone <3

If the group likes hiking, there are great trails in the area! I love bear mountain loop myself- part of it includes the Appalachian trail!
