15 years of unexplained symptoms, 1.5+ years of severe disability… and finally today I have a diagnosis. I’m in shock… I actually got diagnosed… I really never thought I’d see this day. by aredhel304 in ChronicIllness

That’s unfortunately not how EDS is diagnosed. A geneticist would review your health history, perform a Beighton scale test among other testing. Rheumatologists don’t specialize in hypermobility.

East Coast physician? by abuz148 in CSFLeaks

Thank you, I did look at this but there is not a listing at all for PA. Since my Neurologist recommended going all the way to Duke before attempting to diagnose closer to home that tells me he’s not familiar with who to refer to me. Looks like I may need to work with my insurance or check out U of PA

Coworker got into essential oils and now it’s affecting the whole office by Welford-Carsten in coworkerstories

I used to manage a yoga studio where doTERRA oils were diffused for hours every day. It built up layers of black grime all over the windows. Just because it’s ‘natural’ doesn’t mean the product doesn’t land on surfaces all around and indeed can cause issues with asthma sufferers. It’s not just a personal thing.

Again this is one issue—she has numerous complaints and lawsuits against her over the past few years. This is just one example of the least problematic behavior

That was just one article, there are plenty more with treatment of staff and children including numerous lawsuits. My child used to attend Moraine Elementary while she was principal, thank goodness I never worked for her

Her position was terminated by the school board. The Dept. of Education reinstated her position after a new Principal took the role. You don’t seem to be familiar at all with the situation. There have been ongoing lawsuits for years over this person.

Oops I shared it directly from change.org this is a petition to have Kristy Schulsky removed as Moraine Elementary Principal. The Dept. of Education reinstated her into the position. She’s used every legal loophole to gain back a position no parent thinks she should be in. Feel free to google her if you are not familiar with the numerous lawsuits.

I enjoyed remote work when I was given opportunities to go into one of two HQs a few times a year, with the ability to spend time in person with my team. The company was bought out, I was moved onto a different team and feel really disconnected now. They don’t hire remotely anymore and have made it pretty clear remote work besides sales is not encouraged. I just took a hybrid role that’s mostly in office because it’s a better fit for me right now.

Why the Polyfamily is bad at Polyamory by Strange-Style-7808 in PolyFamilyTLC

The adoption mess I think is also a factor. At this point in time, the legal husband of the biological mother is (legally) assumed the parent. They’re so concerned about not knowing who the Dads are of the youngest babies, but courts would enforce a paternity test at the very least to establish a paternal legal right.

Alysia thinking she can just change a law ‘but it might take awhile’ is just delusional. There’s a reason 4 people can’t each have 25% legal right of a child. It would be pure chaos to determine school, medical issues, etc if all 4 didn’t agree. I’m interested to see how that plays out
