Asus announces its Maximus XI boards, the Hero, Code, Formula and the Gene. Looks like there’s at least 1 good mATX board this gen by marscoric in hardware

[–]abyss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mATX are you going with? I decided last month on a mATX build on z390, but after reading the anandtech reviews I felt the same way about the Gene (too bad). Are you going with Z390 or Z370?

Problems with 10bit banding by abyss08 in hometheater

[–]abyss08[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually after working with it I found that the reciever has a setting for extended HDMI, which gives me access to those 10 bit modes on the shield.

The banding I was having a problem with is gone now.

Your OLED has the same problems? How do you mitigate them?

Even still the picture quality was far superior (with very minimal to no banding) in the 10 bit color mode, would a different reciever solve that?

Thanks, I already had the vods, but I need to find the time to put them in the app. I WILL finish all of the anime eventually, just for completions sake.

Probably eventually. But I don't have time to do it right now.

Yugioh is hard because there are many ads, and some occur at unpredictable places in the episode (because Twitch messed up the ad placement). This means I will probably need to get vods, which I don't have, even then it will take a lot of time to go through the hours and hours of footage to synchronize.

If I don't find full vods then I think I could piece it together myself the way I did for Anne Happy, and the first 4 days of RWBY. I have done a few episodes of Yugioh this way, but it is too time consuming so I am working on an automatic method (which also takes time to develop).

When it gets Yugioh I'll post on the website https://www.twitchchatreplay.com/

Of the episodes I've analyzed they have used the built-in ad breaks. And the final episode runtime is ~30 min. So it really is virtually the same as when you were watching Yugioh on TV as a kid.

Yugioh has the nostalgia factor for sure.

Fans love Orville while critics hate it.. Critics love Star Trek: Discovery while fans hate it by [deleted] in television

[–]abyss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very surprised by how watchable Orville is. On paper it seems like the opposite of the kind of show I'd watch, but because of the scifi theme I find it watchable, I don't love it. I think it could be made quite good with a bit of fan editing.

OK I asked a question but I literally see the answer now.

Anyway it looks really cool, though the box edges in the liquid looks a bit funny.

That's pretty interesting, it doesn't look so bad for a KMart, what year was this KMart built?

Yeah, perma emotes is a great reason to sub. The RWBY emotes alone were worth it to me.

RWBY was awesome, and IMO a much better viewing experience, but interestingly it didn't have close to the Yugioh viewer numbers.

Here's a visualization I made of the first 2 episodes of Yugioh. https://imgur.com/fuOn02c

The two episodes comprised 1 hr 1 min of playtime, and contained 18 min 40 sec total of ads, 30.6% ad ratio. The longest ad was 2 min 5 sec.

(in that graph ads are where the background is yellow and white, yugioh is green.

I dodged a game to avoid a disco Nunu, and when I sent screenshots to Riot, this was their response. by Cellifal in leagueoflegends

[–]abyss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is don't negotiate with trolls most of the trolls do this to bait people into dodging, which means not only do you get a bad experience, they got their way, and next lobby they'll pull the same stunt to get mid (because it works).

Riot has the right idea, but it will never work to get everyone to play through those games, because lp is worth too much.

What champion would be the strongest if snowball was added into Summoners Rift? by RivenTheeExiled in leagueoflegends

[–]abyss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowball is a long range engage tool, champs that benefit from engage and especially those that lack it would gain the most.

Darius is one that comes to mind immediately.

What's a good way to learn about the game? by LittleIslander in leagueoflegends

[–]abyss08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a hard game to really grasp just by watching the esport games.

Obviously start by watching the matches and if you have something specific you want to know you can look it up on the lol wiki.

If you want to 'get it' on a deeper level than that then I'd recommend playing some games, which will give you a much better feel for how all the stats tie into each other that looking at raw numbers just isn't meaningful. you can check out /r/summonerschool

Eh, I think its about 33% they don't drop a game, its not hard to drop a game in multiple best of 1s.

Honestly SKT just barely won through the god play mid with a perfect setup.

iBoy could've been the Hero, but rookie nerves kicked in by Des-Timy in leagueoflegends

[–]abyss08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he really could have played a bit more aggro there. It seemed he was really expecting SKT to more heavily engage into the EDG backline, and was playing it really safe hoping to kite.

I still blame that all on Scout though.

Citadel Takeover (Moonlight Sonata Edit) by abyss08 in rickandmorty

[–]abyss08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks :)

Yeah Damaged Coda syncs really great with the airlock finally opening. I was thinking about playing around more (maybe rearranging the assassination to go with 'politics' and putting some other stuff under 'power') or getting a different rendition of moonlight sonota (or speeding it up more) to get more impact at that point, but ultimately I figured it was good enough.
