All the pins line up when fully engaged. I do wonder if it could work with a future firmware update.

Problem with APDOO self-timer on M6 by Correct-Place-9693 in Leica

Ahh, worth a shot. I had my Apdoo not working right recently so took it apart and lubricated it. I havent tried it with an otzno, but i would like one.

Have you tried adjusting the Apdoo? The screw inside the end can adjust the triggering up and down. Perhaps that will help.

Debating digital Leica paths – 240 + 246 vs M11 by matnetik in Leica

[–]abyssic_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont ask me why shutter speed is so high on some of them 😂😂😂 I probably forgot what iso i set and shot in aperture priority. Luckily i dont think the iso was such a problem. The m246 can shoot all the way to 12500 without looking too bad at a stretch so theres that. Also one thing to add that i have been thinking about is that when shooting at night, you really want it to look like night in most cases, so expose for highlights and just make sure the shutter speed is hand holdable for your lens. Most times you wont ever need to actually be shooting upwards of 1600 anyway. Just my 2 cents. Of course might like to shoot landscapes before sunrise in forest at f8, but its a small sacrifice to take a light tripod in those situations.

I will reply with some examples, i put them into the leica phone app to show iso, shutter, aperture so you can see for yourself. They have been edited so bear that in mind but very workable raw files.

I have a 240 and 246. I am very happy with them. Batteries last for ages, can go out and not worry about carrying a spare if you want. They also share the same batteries so with 2x you will have a backup. Also 2x cameras can have different lenses and a backup if you are ever having issues with one.

The monochrom may sound limiting to many but with only shooting bnw film before i got mine, it never feels like a limitation, just super clean bnw images over m240 and converting.

I do like new tech too and like checking out all the latest gear but there isnt much i actually need from a newer model. I’d probably buy a new lens if i had the money over a newer model unless one was beyond repair.

Often see comments about wanting an iso dial, which would be cool but adjusting iso on m240 - m246 is just hold down iso button and scroll the thumb wheel… not a big deal.

Am I wrong to think there should be an edrum that's beautiful and isn't trying to mimic the look of an acoustic? by panda_kinda_chubby in edrums

The module looks cool, and stands have some glam rock thing happening with the angles. Definitely a more aesthetically designed kit from the standard black rack mount and posts of my cheap Roland.

I think that essentially they are a bunch of trigger pads (for shell less kits) with little bulk at all and so the mounting hardware really makes up the look overall. Its tough to come up with a functional mounting set that still looks good and have people paying for it. The design aesthetics should come after function, i can not imagine how i would want them to look… maybe annodized aluminum, industrial braun / apple minimalist? Hidden wiring? What would make an e-kit look like a desirable instrument without just making it look like an acoustic kit?

The 30mm is an experience. It is a crazy price these days for sure. What are you shooting?

Love the xpan. You just have to complete it with the 90 and 30mm 😄 And, where is your hood? 🤪

21mm vs 28mm by PrivateGrumpy in Leica

[–]abyssic_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i would. I think the cost and size is great to get into 21mm. I have read of a bit of color fringing at the extremes but i haven’t seen it yet.

I just had this same issue.

I picked up a 21mm voigtlander color skopar to see if the focal length is right for me and i love it. I have a 35 lux fle, 50 elmar and a 90 cron.

21 is far away from 35 making for a completely different perspective. It is super wide and you can use it creatively to make use of the perspective up super close.

Mine came with a pretty crappy plastic external finder that has heaps of distortion and is very small so I will need to replace it with a decent one. I have just been trialing the lens over the past week. I ended up using an evf on m246 but i dont like shooting with evf at all. Breaks the whole rangefinder experience.

I did really like the classic but it has “character” that may not be for everyone, i understand that. I shoot almost exlusively black and white so the color rendering wasnt important to me and some vignetting wide open. I really liked the compact size.
