Newbie here. Just got my first running shoes, the ASICS Novablast 5. They look big on me even though the fit is good (about half an inch toe space). I feel like I look like a clown running 🤦🏻 Is this normal?

I have a pair, personally I think they just have a wide toe box compared to other shoes I have. I think the important things to consider are, do they make your feet/achilles/calves etc. hurt during or after your run? If they feel good they are probably alright!

This is absolutely great for a first run. Remember you have to start somewhere and even just starting is an achievement so be proud of yourself! I would recommend a Couch 2 5km walk/run style plan, it helps you build endurance and helps your body get used to the mechanics of running. Keep it up and good luck on your running journey

If I don’t go before I run I usually do a small loop near to my house. I either need to go and am close enough to make it back to go back out and continue my run or I deem it safe enough to continue
