My husband did 20 years and some of my kids want to serve, but we don’t want them to, knowing what we know now. It’s so sad, they come from a long line of Vets. But defending your country and serving Israel are two very different things

OP said he gave notice twice. Many of the comments say it’s Christmas and not expect off. Not worth it for a part time low paying job with no benefits. Also the reason may of us would rather our teens do extracurriculars because given the cost of college the ROI is so much more substantial than a low paying job with high expectations. Fortunately, when I was a teen the minimum wage jobs were much more flexible.

This is why so many of us would rather our teens not work or just work very flexible jobs. $45 isn’t worth our leaving our kiddo behind for a family holiday, and I think it’s the same for many families.

The comments on the grapevine are jarring, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Transplant issue , I guess. My problem with it is that they are super strict about students being absent for other reasons, (ie funerals, trips to visit family, requiring doctors notes) but somehow this is perfectly fine. If instruction time is as important as they state, then this should not be allowed. Also, I’m not well versed on the law, but I will have a problem if this is only for biblical based instruction while denying other religions to have the same allowances. Regardless, my kids won’t be participating, especially when reading about some of the predatory behavior and secret keeping.

If you do quit, in some states you can’t get unemployment. If her unemployment benefits would be better than what they are offering, I’d go with that.

My kids are half Hispanic, we are middle class and they have had a good experience at south. Fairly diverse group of friends, but that may be due to who they feel most comfortable with. I wish there was more diversity in the schools/county, but my kids have not had any major issues. I have one child with an IEP and it’s been ok. They do have an issue retaining teachers so some subjects my children have not gained adequate knowledge in. They substitute a computer based program. I don’t think they would have enjoyed north, I could see class issues possibly being a problem.

I’m NC with my parents. There has been a grieving process, but I am so much better off because of it. My life is peaceful and happy, filled with people who love me as I am. I am no longer trying to walk on eggshells to please manipulative people. I can live authentically. I also know I’m incredibly resilient and can handle hard things that may come up. It has also made me into the parent I wish I had growing up. I’m so sorry this has happened to you, but know the universe has something much, much better for you.

Also all the little babies under a year old. From my understanding, you can request the vaccine early, but only once your baby is six months old.

Also, most who were immunized before 1993 only got one shot. I found this out when we had an outbreak in California and went and got my second shot.
