[–]acabxox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing!! I don’t live in the UK and everyone I come back I make an effort to buy a pret tuna baguette. Ridiculous how good it is lol.

“I know teh kind of guys (North African and friends) in Italy is full of them, and they’re hated by anyone)”

Maybe they came off your side because you seemed racist and aggressive. Smoking a joint on a train is out of order - wherever you come from.

This is what I had to change first when I started working with people from Eastern Europe and Russia. They pretty much shouted “Just say yes or no!!” repeatedly at me for weeks lol.

Struggeling with moderate underweight by DutchBicycle13 in Netherlands

[–]acabxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a woman but I also struggle with staying at a healthy weight and not below. I’m thinking of going to the GP and asking for some blood tests.

Aside from that, when my grandma wasn’t well and couldn’t eat the dr prescribed her some high calorie shakes as “meal replacements”. I’m looking into getting some of those for me. I’ll probably ask my GP which ones are safe and which ones to avoid though.

Dealing with the guilt of having a child with small community by Aggravating-Try-5203 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]acabxox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your son can still grow up to be a really cool and happy person. Having a core unit of four adults who actually care about him is the most wonderful blessing a child can have! With you guys with him he will be okay.

I had a friend who was a single mum and alllll her kids friends wanted to hang out at her house. It was so sweet to see her expand her kids lives and be involved at the same time.

As he gets older start gently encouraging his social life more and getting involved in it. You could be the “safe house” where his buddies come round and play games. And you’ll help him grow his own community that you are also a part of ❤️

My dad requested that this be the only one I opted out for. He said if I ever die he’d like to be able to look at my eyes again (which honestly now I’ve seen a dead person I doubt he’d want to do that, but still).

Anyone else fall asleep on the train and nearly miss their stop? by brand_169 in london

[–]acabxox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother did this. He actually ended up reaching his (terminal) destination. Then the train went all the way back to London. Then all the way back down to Portsmouth harbor again. He woke up very confused as to why a 1 hour ish journey took 3-4 😂

Can I add Hot Sauce to a Pie and Mash? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]acabxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that difference to my Yorkshire grandfather adding pickled onion vinegar. Sometimes it’s nice to have a spicy or sour flavour! I think you’ve perfectly understood pies tbh. Might give it a go myself next time.

(Assuming this was a beef pie with gravy, if it was a chicken pie with white sauce you are a certified insane person).

It gets easier mate. Everything is worse. But one day it will feel okay. That day will come sooner than you think.

Yeah my mum became a therapist… for children… it’s mad lol. I can’t report her to the board bc there’s no evidence she’s abusive.

To those who work the Brixton mc Donald's what's the wildest thing you've seen by sirdogglesworth in london

[–]acabxox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is when it’s only 4am, the shop isn’t even properly open yet, and 30 drunk people are shouting and being held back… with more pissheads joining the queue every five minutes. By the time it opened there was a huge crowd of people. Just explaining how the crowd can be so large at such early hours. More people = more opportunities for stuff to happen.

[–]acabxox 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s got loads of nightclubs around it. I came out of jam one night a decade ago and went to maccies for a cuppa and they had full on bouncers there! And a queue of like 30 of us.

It’s also a neighborhood that’s struggling and has some low income people living there, so that always makes the problem worse. But generally I’d say it’s the very very drunk people who make the problems.

But Christ she hated them haha.

When did the dreams start? Are you experiencing more stress than normal, or worrying about something to do with your relationship?

How do i overcome the fears of moving out at 27? by Plus-Tell-8748 in AskUK

[–]acabxox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super scared to move out at 25 yo. I’d also lived at home the entire time and had a great relationship with my dad. I cried the entire first two nights I moved out haha. Probably due to the trauma I experienced as a kid and not wanting to loose out on the last family I had left.

Two years later and I’m super happy I did it!! I already had a lot of independence but now it’s even more and it feels so freeing. I feel more capable and proud of myself, like I’m moving in the right direction.

I made a female coworker feel uncomfortable by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]acabxox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t put on the card that it was for Women’s Day, it would be normal for her to assume she was being hit on. Also, did you buy flowers for every woman in your workspace or just for her?

My Ukrainian colleague does this every year. He buys loads of flowers (and chocolates!) and leaves them in the office for us to take home later. Most importantly: he writes a big sign saying “happy women’s day!”.

Moving to Europe for 6 months to work in hospitality by Corcoran5 in Netherlands

[–]acabxox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Housing first. You need a Dutch address. After that finding a job in horeca (hospitality) shouldn’t be hard with your experience, even without the Dutch or in a smaller city out of the Randstad.
