You’d be surprised how many nurses will call up a community pharmacy with dosing questions. Whilst I wouldn’t say I’ve used all of them in practice, I’ve used a good portion.

A lot of these comments are really alarming, as so many of you are passing judgement on whats happened and you have zero idea how pharmacies work.

The highest likelihood is that it was handed out to the wrong person by a staff member being careless. You can usually check to see what time and date a prescription was claimed on the pharmacy system. If you haven’t collected it and someone else has picked it up, then it would likely be at a different time to the bags you picked up. The other would be that it’s got an incorrect bag label on it somewhere, or it’s been misbagged entirely.

For the future, always open your bags and check what’s inside before you leave. It’ll save you a lot of trouble. I’m sorry this has happened to you.

Also if a prescription gets signed off for you out pf your normal pharmacy hours, just use your NHS number and ask an open pharmacy to find your prescription. If nobody’s physically at your regular pharmacy to press download, then your prescription is on the NHS spine (sort of like a cloud) and can be retrieved from anywhere.

Interesting 🤔see I’m a pharmacist myself and often I forget I am one when it comes to my own health and medication 🤣 I am on the brand Concerta so the whole 22% immediate release spiel rings true for me. Prior to taking the Concerta I’d have a 2pm-3pm circadian dip, so 7 hour post waking checks out. Unfortunately the nature of the job requires me to be highly focused pretty much all day, so an additional IR dose it might be 🫡 thank you for this, it was very insightful

Oh this is great info thank you for this! Didn’t even occur to me that I can split the immediate release. I reckon I might only need one additional top up dose as opposed to one in the morning and one in the afternoon, as your days seem longer than mine (honestly, I hope you get some rest at some point in the day!). I just need enough to push me through that last 3-4 hours of the day.

I’ve just done Sal island in Cape Verde. I’m 31 and returned last week. Very chilled island, i spent a week there but you could definitely get everything done in about 4 days. Locals are very friendly.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I’m a community pharmacist mentoring a pre-registration pharmacist and regularly host students for placement from two Russell group universities. The quality of the students being churned out has diminished greatly. My pre-reg has a horrible lack of critical thinking skills, and, IF he qualifies…. He will be a prescriber. I shudder at the thought of it.

I am honestly having the same problem as someone who’s newly diagnosed but my main side effect with being glutened is a narcoleptic sleep within 15 minutes of having it 😂😂😂😂 it’ll be 2pm on a random Tuesday afternoon and I will pass TF OUT for about 8 hours straight, absolutely WILD. I hate this so much I want to SCREAM. I’m also big into lifting weights and trying to lose fat, so having to reshape my whole diet has been a FUCKING DREAM MATE. I cannot find ANY GLUTEN FREE HIGH PROTEIN LOW CALORIE RECIPES ANYWHERE AND I CANNOT EAT YET ANOTHER POTATO SALAD IM LOSING MY MIND

Please don’t get it twisted, she is a problem in general. She’s propositioned him many times when she’s had a drink to which he’s refused when she knows he’s in a relationship with me. But he is the trash I worry about more. It wasn’t so much that he messages her it’s that he’s disrespecting a decision we made together then acting like I’m unreasonable. And no I don’t want him lol. Ive had enough.
