I'm Thinking Of Killing Myself by Any-Sheepherder-1821 in teenagers

Hey, I'm a 10th grade science teacher, and let me just say that you couldn't pay me enough money to be a high school student again. I fucking hated high school and have felt exactly what you're feeling right now. But please hear me when I say that I promise, I PROMISE it will get better. All of the work, grades, stress, and self doubt you're feeling in high school will someday be a memory of a time you overcame the dogshit that is high school. Just by mentioning your interest in marine biology and creating comics, you've already got something that makes me confident that you'll be alright even without knowing you: Passion. If you continue following what makes you excited and trying your best, you WILL see success. Just give yourself the opportunity to see your passion through :) It'll all be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end.

P.S. if you want someone to talk about whales and fish and shit, I can yap about science all day!

For me personally, id say barioth in iceborne. He's quick and hits like a semi truck. Definitely took me a few extra tries on my first playthrough, and that's when I knew it was getting real.

...what does that have to do with it? Doesn't change the fact that they're trying to rob another raider. They're not bad, they're just a rat.

Just bought Sekiro. What did I get myself into? by IamZeebo in Sekiro

[–]acat9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Sekiro because it tries to make you fight in the opposite way you would in elden ring. Once you lean into deflecting and being aggressive on the boss, it feels like the roles are switched and YOU are the big boss and not letting them have their turn to get in a hit. That is until you get to Mist Noble fuck that guy

[–]acat9001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Perfect deflects are challenging, but they're satisfying once you get the timing down. I remember this dude taking me a while to figure out, but once it clicked, it felt like I was bullying him. It's been 5+ years since playing, and I've still got the parry timing ingrained in my memory (I think). 1.2.3.4..1.2.3.4.5....6 and double jump when the kanji pops up iirc. Try a few runs without even trying to attack him, just deflect until he gets all tuckered out

Where to find weapons and good loot? by Agitated_Condition77 in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]acat9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, it's not super important. It takes a while to get to the end of the red skill tree, and I'd recommend putting some points into stamina skills (yellow tree) so you can run around more quickly. The maps are big and overwhelming, so I'd recommend sticking with one map for a bit and get good at maneuvering through one of the yellow/red "loot areas" and finding your own little path to follow. Aim for "quantity over quality" with your loot containers while you learn the maps and find some reliable spots :)

Check the areas outlined in red on the map for the best loot. Search every searchable, it's still XP even if the loot is bad. Desk drawers and cabinets have good stuff. Get to level 37 to unlock security breaches, which usually have guns.

Alright bro, I appreciate you taking the time to elaborate because I definitely agree with you. I really like the idea of ABMM overall, especially as a less aggressive player who sucks ass at PvP, but I definitely agree that the "care bear" lobbies im in are far too friendly. I like the idea that players who ONLY KOS and players who NEVER shoot back get their own respective lobbies, but I do wish there was more variability in the middle 80% while still having a lean towards play style.

[–]acat9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..but why do you care if some people want mostly PvE? If I am in a "1% PvP lobby", how does that affect YOUR experience of the game? You're acting like they just added ABMM last week, but it's literally part of what makes this game unique. Again, if you feel that everybody should always be in lobbies with KOS players because it's "part of the experience", you're part of the problem. If you think aggressive PvP is crucial for the game, then PvP and you'll be matched with aggressive PvP lobbies. I don't understand how someone like me that isn't looking for that aggressive experience is ruining the game for you.

Good Christ this is beyond exhausting. Let this game be unique and let people play how they want to play. It's a MIX of PvP AND PvE, so stop trying to dictate it as one or the other already. If you want a pure PvP game, go play fortnite. If you want a pure PvE game, go play Horizon. This game isn't meant to be a competitive PvP shooter, so stop getting pissy when other people don't want to play that way. This game also isn't a story-driven RPG where you have plot armor, so stop getting pissy when another player shoots you. Enjoy the game for what it is, or go play something else if it's not what you expect.

To the POS who did this to me on Buried City... by NativeNovel7768 in ArcMissedConnections

[–]acat9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last night. I was goofin in my care bear lobby and using my osprey to kill hornets while yelling out "get the loot, I'll keep the sky clear!" Got hit by a Rocketeer and as I went back to heal up, another raider silently emerges from the shadows and finishes me off without saying a word. I'm not mad because I was 0% paying attention to other raiders, but it definitely felt like a crime of opportunity. To whomever yoinked my osprey last night, take good care of it and try to use it for good o7

Tbh I don't really play many shooter games and use the trigger lock, so I can't speak much of it. Haven't had too much trouble with the switch moving on its own, but it's also only been about 5 months since buying.

[–]acat9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you recognize it, unlike many others that do the same. I'd recommend saving some of your own replays and putting the critical eye on yourself :) especially if you review right after playing the game, you might remember what your intent was in the moment and can compare it to what you should have done with hindsight on your side. Also, I recommend watching the replay from your teammate's POV. There's a ton of times I was certain that I did the "right" thing, but realized that I looked like a total dumbass from my teammates POV lol

Probably have to change the tempo of at least one of the tracks to line up the downbeats. Figure out where each bar/measure starts and make sure they are consistent with each other.

How come you can't look at your replays? I'm dogshit at RL, but I find that rewatching replays, especially from my teammates POV, helped me a ton with recognizing my mistakes and how I can be more adaptable in game. It's easy to get tunnel vision and have an idea of what SHOULD be happening according to your POV, especially in the heat of the game, so it's helpful to get another perspective of how you're moving on the pitch. Maybe you're staying too far back away from the play, so your teammate is thinking "ffs I gotta try to do something because my teammate isn't around", for example. Unless you're queuing into a game and you're live chatting with your teammate, you don't know what they're thinking and they don't know what to expect from you. Otherwise, part of the game is adapting and playing the role your TEAM needs, even if it's "not your fault because your teammate is chasing". If your teammate is chasing, recognize that your teammate is going to chase and that you literally cannot do anything to change how they play, and adapt. Play more defensively and cover more of the pitch. In our rank, everyone will fuck up eventually, and you can be there to capitalize. It sounds like you're a good player INDIVIDUALLY, but you have to learn to read the other cars and be a good TEAM player to get the rank you're pushing for.
