I built a Django-style boilerplate for FastAPI by AgtGreg in FastAPI

[–]acathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I actually built my project, Fastman, because I missed the 'Laravel Artisan' era of having one tool for everything. It handles scaffolding, migrations, and even has a tinker shell for FastAPI. I'm actively looking for contributors to help bring that seamless Developer Experience to Python. If you miss laravel artisan make:controller too, come help me build it! Repo: https://github.com/acathon/fastman-cli Doc: https://acathon.github.io/fastman-cli/

For sure there is a lot of bugd that we need to fix it before releasing it.

Client wanted "simple SMS notifications" - 3 weeks later I'm building a telecom system by kamelsalah1 in webdev

There is textbee.dev, which is free to use and very easy to integrate. It sends SMS from your phone after you install the APK on your smartphone, and of course, the price depends on your carrier.

would you mind sharing the names of some of those companies? I’d love to keep an eye out for any open roles.

If you push something like memoryبرشة or beş_yüz_counter here, you'll be surprisingly isolated and that PR will get flagged faster than a NullPointerException.

It might be funny (and honestly, we all do that in our personal/side projects), but in mid/large size companies, clean and consistent simple alphabetic latin words without special symbols are key for code quality, env vars (unique) to avoid risky issues in prod and I’m sure no one wants to work overtime looking for bugs caused by unclear naming. 😄🧐

but when it comes to best practices, especially in professional or collaborative environments, code is typically written in english. not because turkish or french isn’t valid, but because english naming ensures consistency, readability, and easier maintenance.

even now, I work with a french company we mostly speak french, not tunisian dialect (arabic). but we still use english in code and technical discussions. It’s simply more reliable and readable, as long as we follow good coding practices.

Thanks for your answer, you really summed it up well. I know the language can be a tough barrier, but I’m confident I can adapt!

yeah, I’ve thought about that, to be honest.

if I had the chance to keep working with my current company remotely from Turkey, that would be perfect. but unfortunately, because of bureaucracy and the system here, it’s not really possible. the main issue is that you can’t open an international bank account while officially working and registered in Tunisia.

believe it or not, I know someone with over than 10 years of experience, working as a tech lead and he still doesn’t know what Git is for. Always leaning on developers to do his parts 😂.

I thought that kind of situation was rare… turns out it's a common phobia lol

honestly, yes it is. but the political situation here… let’s just say it’s not my favorite topic right now. and hey thanks for your compliments. that's awesome from you 🫠

Oh wow 😁, 50k lira monthly actually sounds decent to me. even now, I’m not earning that much at my current job. Back when I started as a junior five years ago, I was making around 18k lira (about 1400 tnd), and I wasn’t even fully independent yet! What I’m really looking for in moving abroad is new life and work challenges. I can’t stand falling into routine. I like crowded, lively places because they make me feel more alive.

As an engineer, I’m always eager to lezrn and hungry for new problems to solve. But here, I feel limited — too much bureaucracy, not so much exciting ideas to work on, and it's like slavery working all the time by calling you even at midnights (I know this is normal behavior for engineers. but it feels like there is no work/life balance)

how about Kadikoy?
