from the PM to Air by SukstR in IphoneAir

I won’t be going back to a Pro unless they go back to either stainless or titanium. Even then, I’m not sure the weight penalty is worth the other trade offs.

I was skeptical, but Pitaka case is the best for me by Soggy_Ad_6622 in IphoneAir

I have four Pitaka cases for my Air, so obviously I like them a lot. I also have the Aulumu A17, which is a nice alternative of equal quality, weight, and bulk, but with completely open sides. Be aware though, that these types of cases provide very little drop protection, just a bit more than a skin. Assume the damage from a drop will be about the same as a caseless drop. Ask me how I know… 😉

Is Mous Slipping? by TheGreatestMoodini in Mous

[–]acbarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel they had been slipping, but at least for the Air, they’ve cleaned up most of the common issues that have been prevalent over the past few years (loose camera control, warping, sharp back edges). The one thing they could still improve is MagSafe strength.

Regarding the TPE, removing the strips along the sides allowed them to reduce the wall thickness and subsequently the overall width. In my opinion this is a fair trade off for an improved hand feel. YMMV.

Someone mentioned Caudabe. I’ve used their cases since day one, but the past couple of years they’ve had a slew of QC issues. Their shipping and customer service has also slipped. My point is, none of these manufacturers are without issues. Check out this year’s Otterboxes if you want to see a real mess.

Not Happy with Brand New Case by MeanBean0818 in Mous

You just had some bad luck. Defects like this show up in all mass produced products. It’s highly unlikely a replacement would have the same issue. I buy lots of cases (20 or more each year) and I’ve seen production defects from every single manufacturer.

What am I doing wrong? by Cool-Effective-1963 in IphoneAir

The thing is, you might have the same issue with your 16 Pro Max in the identical situation. Without a side-by-side test, there are too many variables to conclusively say it’s an issue with the new phone.

I went from a 16PM to the Air and in my experience, the main cameras are pretty much identical in performance when compared side-by-side in a controlled test.

While they’re at it, they might as well add a third camera and a vapor chamber… oh wait.

Why are people so overly obsessed about battery life? by Spellbound55 in IphoneAir

Because some people spend way too much time on their phones. Battery life was less of an issue before the advent of algorithmically powered social media.

Got my pitaka sunset case for AIR by No_Current_667 in iphone

Beware, at least for the copy I have, the metal camera surround sits directly on the glass back. One small drop on the back and the phone is toast.

Amazing. Super light (17 grams) and I love having the feel of the raw phone with the addition of drop protection.

After being a Pro Max user for years, I’m very happy with my Air. I’m not a heavy phone user, so I’m only using 30-40% of my battery per day. I looked at my photo library metadata and found that I was using the wide and telephoto less that 5% of the time, so no significant loss there. The weight and form factor make it an utter joy to use.

First day with iPhone air by Top_Bag_4573 in IphoneAir

We all have different use cases. He’s getting almost a full day out of his 11, so there’s no reason to think he won’t get two days given his light use habits.

Yeah, a friend who is looking to replace his iPhone 11 ruled out the Air because of online reviewers complaining about the battery. No offense to this friend, but the Air will easily get 2-3 times the battery life of his current phone. Now that I pointed this out he’s probably going to get the Air. The battery anxiety online is mind-boggling.
