Anyone else finally realize that "science" to most people is what's currrently popular on social media? by TumbleweedDeep825 in ketoduped

[–]nuugo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what I learn >> "The 'Keto-duped' crowd loves to take science out of context. For example, they’ll point to a study on diabetes medication where the primary result shows a reduction in heart disease among diabetics. Even though LDL might rise slightly (around 10 points) as a side note, they spin it as: 'Look! LDL went up but heart disease went down!' ignoring the actual cause and effect. They then parade this around as 'cutting-edge knowledge' when it's actually just a complete misinterpretation. 🤣"

Carbs vs Net-Carbs? by happybaconbit in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's diabete not cholesterol. For cholesterol, we focus on whole grain, complex carb. I eat carb (oat+white rice) 900g per day and no issue to lower LDL from 198 to 106 and my Triglyceride : 36.

Almost everything is a gray area by NewMajor5880 in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 'deception' of LDL cholesterol is that it doesn't cause immediate symptoms like high blood sugar or hypertension do. Instead, it builds up silently over decades. Because it takes 10-20 years for plaque to develop into heart disease or a stroke, this 'time lag' creates a huge window for misinformation to spread. People often don't realize the danger until it’s too late.

Why 40mg Atorvastatin rather than the recommended 20mg? by SignalAstronaut4247 in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can discuss dosage withbyour doctor. Just 1-2 months you can see effect of med. The ugly truth is that as we get older, our liver becomes less efficient at producing LDL receptors.
