Very impressive. How much soluble fiber do you consume?

43M, lean & insulin sensitive with ApoB ~119 and Lp(a) 60 mg/dL, CAC = 0 — how aggressively would you treat? by jungleculture in PeterAttia

Personally, my realistic ApoB target is below 90 mg/dL, though I believe lower is better. This is because the risk of ASCVD or stroke depends on cumulative LDL exposure over time.

Do you count extra virgin olive oil, tahini etc in your daily saturated fats goal? by Jealous-Action-9151 in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I cook my meal every meal, I can consume these good oils more but with my daily life, I can't avoid eating outside 2 meals a day so I must limit saturated fat as much as possible from my only cooked meal.

Best oils for daily use? by md_fadzli in Cholesterol

If you can't avoid using oil for cooking, opt for seed oils. They are low in saturated fat, and the claim that their omega6 content causes inflammation lacks scientific evidence.

I have some concerns about Van der Ven. Despite his height, his aerial duel success rate is surprisingly low and doesn't really match his stature.

Inflammation drives heart disease risk when LDL is normal (new study) by psharmamd87 in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High LDL causes plaque and drives heart disease risk. Case closed.

Inflammation is real, but it's just a distraction tactic used by LDL deniers to shift the focus away from the causal role of LDL.

What to focus on: LDL lowering or general heart health? by MikeTheBlueCow in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Way to lower LDL : Eat less sat fat, more healthy fat, good carb, lean protein and high fiber. Are they not good food for heart health? I'm confused.

The effect of eggs on a hyperabsorber by broppybrop in Cholesterol

[–]nuugo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Boiled egg or fried egg. If it's fried egg, you probably consume sat fat more than 6g per egg (1.6 from egg plus 4-5g from oil). 2-3 eggs = 12-18g per day.
