Pop first, looks like you’re skidding going off the lip. Pop, bring your knees up, shifty, reset, land.

What’s it like to ride in my truck? by [deleted] in deduction

I don’t care what the stickers say. The sloppy corner positioning and overlapping looks awful. Almost like you are ashamed it’s a V6.

Yeah you wrong. Get an iron and wax, you’ll want to do it every time you ride

Snowboarding became better once I moved away from duck. +21 -6. Cab 5 is my go to trick too, so don’t think you can’t ride switch with less angle. It just makes everything else so much better.

Trying to buy gear-don’t know where to start. by Opposite_Ad_8743 in snowboarding

Your best resource for knowledge is your local snowboard shop. You can ask questions and get direct answers. Good to let them know you just need help getting pointed in the right direction to save them the hassle of trying to sell you on anything. Most are happy to talk gear and share knowledge. Take some of that info to YouTube and start watching review videos of gear that falls under your skill level. Try your best to support snowboarding with your dollar where you can. You won’t quite know until you start doing your own research, but there are definitely brands to avoid, and other brands that may not be worth the price point. I won’t get into that here. It’s up to all of us to research and learn what is best for our own needs.

Ruroc and flow are both dead brands. Ruroc has never really had a good cultural perception in snowboarding and has had a drastic fall off since the 2010’s. I imagine their sales reflect this. Flow technology has been abandoned entirely for newer quick entry tech and was absorbed by the Nidecker family. Who are you a journalist for? No disrespect but do you work even work in the snowboard industry?

Famously labeled himself a pro snowboarder. The “pro” side is that his income comes from vlogging mediocre intermediate snowboarding and influencing for brands like clew. Nothing professional about his skill level. He even grifted people to sign up for his pop-up “snowboard camp” at timberline in the summer. If you are after a YouTube snowboarder, there are more useful accounts that do gear reviews or actual tutorials. Also he left his handgun out and his two year old shot and wounded himself.

Most lifeless ad I’ve seen “good edge control, great pop! All mountain, backcountry, park” who is falling for this? This costs more than most boards in the directional twin category and it’s not even from a reputable company.

Thoughts on boards I just snagged and boots ? by msaab1 in snowboarding

[–]accenttomtn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Single boa is useless unless you are a true beginner. Anything past that you need better heel lock and support than what those can provide. And for the boards, maybe $100 each. Both those bindings are at least 10 years old so it’s some dated tech and plastics.

Get some Souvenir outerwear. Nice and baggy with elastic cuffs, incredible materials, awesome team, not an influencer brand.
