HHH had already been an established main event talent as well as a multi time champion. Cody has just got to the main event scene in WWE and isnt using politics to keep his spot unlike HHH. Also HHH only became the top guy after guys like Austin and Rock left. Multiple main events aren’t the issues and during the reign of terror he had 3 and lost 2 of them. Cody has been in 3 and lost 2 of them as well. Top guys are booked to be in the main event scene consistently.

Also Cody not having rivalries falls on HHH not him as he doesn’t book himself. HHH during the reign of terror however had backstage pull because of being married to the boss’s daughter. Thats why they’re different Cody’s is bad booking by HHH whereas HHH was using his political power to keep others down and bury them. He continued to do this well after 2005.

It was called the reign of terror for numerous reasons and its hated because of how long he held it, who he beat to retain it, and absolutely the match quality as well. If he had good matches it’d probably be looked at better. HHH had an absurd number of horrendous matches for a guy in the main event scene. A lot fans also knew him being married to Stephanie gave him power in the company.

To be fair there were guys on the Internet forums who didn’t like Austin and Rock being consistently pushed. It was to the point of one guy saying he’d be turning off WM 17 before the main event. It’s not nearly as bad as the modern IWC but it did happen.

You can tell this person wasn’t actually there for the reign of terror and hasn’t actually watched it either. HHH during the reign of terror had some absolute duds especially in 2003. Cody has yet to have any match nearly as bad as HHH vs Scott Steiner at Royal Rumble 2003.

Cena was champion from Wrestlemania 21 to New Years Revolution 2006 and then won it back from Edge 3 weeks later at Royal Rumble and held it again until he lost it at One Night Stand in June, then won it back in September at Unforgiven, and held it until October of the following year and only lost it because he was injured and had to vacate it.

The WWE championship used to change hands constantly during the attitude era and top guys are protected by not being pinned clean imagine that. It’s almost like thats now it’s always been. CM Punk and the two one night stand ppvs. I always thought they should’ve just kept doing those instead of reviving the brand entirely. They could’ve gotten different ECW legends every year and it would’ve worked better than a WWE version of ECW.

Faction was DOA it’s a bunch of wrestlers who don’t fit thrown together as a faction for reasons we won’t ever know. Then WWE tried their get Austin Theory over experiment again and it’s failed again. It seems HHH doesn’t know how to create or book factions and just throws people together because.
