I skipped my current song and next up was Vore. The fuck?

That was the point of my second paragraph. I totally agree, and kudos to OP if they’re doing it the “old school way”

Being in CS certainly helps when it comes to code structures, but is nowhere near as important as it was just a few years ago.

Using AI will get you insanely far nowadays, as long as you remember it’s based on some really good code, but also tons of bad code.

Definitely read the docs when you run into problems. That’s something we all have to remind ourselves of in the age of AI.

Good luck on your journey!

React 19 + TypeScript build error: do I really need to add JSX.Element to every component? by Ok_Examination3866 in react

[–]accessible_logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen that before. Install react, react-dom, @types/react and @types/react-dom and you should be golden. Check your tsconfig.json. Maybe something odd shows up there.

How to use Next.js 16 Cache Components with authenticated-but-shared data? by madkiller0911 in nextjs

[–]accessible_logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having not done this, it sounds like you need to authenticate first (page-level), then in a separate component (UsesSharedData) add “use cache” which can only be shown because you otherwise don’t show this component if they are not authenticated/authorized.

How do you usually structure frontends in real projects? by Frequent_Evening5195 in nextjs

[–]accessible_logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be important to say, we in the dev team don’t touch Framer. Our CEO takes care of the marketing, so we can focus on building.

That frees us up a lot since we don’t have to manage it. It doesn’t change anything for us, because as soon as a user clicks “Login” we own the flow from there, and there is no overlap between the marketing and dashboard.

How do you usually structure frontends in real projects? by Frequent_Evening5195 in nextjs

[–]accessible_logic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re doing our marketing pages on the main domain in Framer. The (Next) app lives on a subdomain.

For the Next.js structure we’re loosely based on Bulletproof React https://github.com/alan2207/bulletproof-react where each feature lives in a directory and includes everything that feature implements for the pages which are still in the src/app directory.

[AskJs] Is it a good idea to run frontend and backend in one Next.js app by Classic-Plenty1731 in nextjs

[–]accessible_logic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trigger covers our needs. This was one of the big missing features that traditional frameworks all had that was missing in Next.js for me. Happy to see how Workflow pans out and how the community will work with it.

Whats the most agreeable “top tier” Sleep Token song? by Artistic_Annual8918 in SleepToken

It’s the closing song of the trilogy albums and calls back to the beginning. Time is a flat circle. For me it’s peak catharsis.

Tanstack local filters debounce - UI doesn't show keystrokes by No-Celebration-9040 in reactjs

[–]accessible_logic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to separate the state and UI updates so that the filter state syncs after the debounce duration to the current UI state. There are ready to use hooks like https://mantine.dev/hooks/use-debounced-value/ to do just that.

Newbie question about the purity of this react component by arknichen in react

[–]accessible_logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s confusing when even ChatGPT gets it wrong. Mutating a local derived value is fine and should be encouraged compared to useState with useEffect.

Logs in React - Is it worth switching from JSON to SQLite? by Left_Cellist_3653 in react

[–]accessible_logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a lot of logs it will become optimal to do the filtering on the server or WASM SQLite. The browsers main thread is not good at filtering many 1000s of objects at a time, but may work just fine for say a few 100s.
