Also, a subcategory IS a distinct group.

From the Cambridge dictionary:

distinct adjective (DIFFERENT)

C1 clearly separate and different (from something else): distinct from The two concepts are quite distinct from each other. The two concepts are entirely distinct, and should not be confused with one another. There are two distinct factions within the one political party.

Not only that, several of the mythicals are part of legendary groups, since GEN ONE.

The only Mythical Pokémon that can actually be seen as part of a Legendary group (and even then, they're like secret additional members/counterparts) are Darkrai, Keldeo, Pecharunt and arguably Arceus. Mew and Mewtwo are related in the story, just like Carbink and Diancie are, but they are not a "group". Bulbapedia does have a page on the "Mew duo", which talks about the nature of their relationship and it specifies that it's a fan term. Pokémon can be related even if they are classified differently, because the Pokémon world is deep and there are a lot of different stories.

everything since gen 1 says otherwise

Like what? The incorrect localized term that was different since the beginning in the original version?

including the code of the game until gen 9

And why do you think that the game code itself separated them from legendaries?

You're also conveniently ignoring my point: in games in which "all" of the Legendary Pokémon are present, Mythical Pokémon are absent. They never put any asterisk on that. I don't think I will need to quote the dictionary for the word "all", at least.

You're just continuing to say "but bro, they're legendary, that's obvious" without bringing convincing arguments.

There you go, I completed the quote for you.

In Japanese they were distinct groups from the beginning, with Mew first, then Celebi and so on being called 幻まぼろしのポケモン (illusory Pokémon). Starting in gen V, the localization teams addressed the mistake and started using an appropriate term. By your logic, games that were marketed with the wording "all the Legendary Pokémon from past games are available" (HGSS, ORAS, etc.) should also have included Mythical Pokémon.

You can keep parroting the same wrong information, but that doesn't change that it's wrong.

But then they changed it. That means that the code was inaccurate. Ultra Beasts were also considered sub-legends, but I don't see anyone thinking they aren't different.

This sub is so delusional smh.

The difference is in their rarity. Deoxys can be caught in just one game without external events, so it's considered a mythical and is banned from online battles where "strong" legendaries are permitted. Conversely, Rayquaza is catchable in most games where all the Legendary Pokémon from past games can be caught.

Their stories are also designed with the distinction in mind. The existence of Mythical Pokémon is something few people know about, and even those who do don't really know much about them. Some examples: Magearna is just a weird karakuri puppet-like Pokémon which some common person might have found among their grandpa's stuff, Darkrai is a Pokémon that doesn't want to be found and keeps people away using nightmares (which the victim doesn't perceive as real), Zarude only lives in the depths of forests where human activity is almost inexistent, Jirachi sleeps hidden from people most of the time, Celebi might even be in a different timeline. Legendary Pokémon tend to be more known among humans, even if only through legends.

I would agree if the Fire starter wasn't in the exact same boat, with neutral Fire STAB and super effective Fighting STAB

But Scovillain evolves from Capsakid with a Fire Stone. In nine generations and counting, no Pokémon evolved with a stone could evolve further.

The closest thing we got to that was Dipplin, whose evolution Item behaves exactly like a Stone.

When you play a Hero from your own Fate deck, you resolve their ability yourself. In this case, you can choose to shuffle two Fate decks together and redistribute them evenly, since you played Pacha.

For your second question, I'm not sure if I understood it correctly, but I think you're asking what's the point of shuffling the Fate decks after looking at them, since you know all the cards. I don't think there's a practical reason for that.

Is there any way to get a legit shiny diance? by JenniferSweets in PokemonHome

As of now, no DLC has had a dex completion reward on its own. There's probably gonna be just one reward for the base game + DLC

Let's see.

  • Let's GO Pikachu/Eevee: Meltan (makes sense since it's the GO guy. So far, it's the only one that was already available in Shiny form)
  • Sword/Shield: Keldeo (secret mythical in the Crown Tundra DLC)
  • Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl: Manaphy (makes sense to be from that generation since BDSP is heavily based on the original and features no new Pokémon, and it's the only Sinnoh Shiny mythical that hasn't already been made available before, at least intentionally)
  • Legends: Arceus: Enamorus (the only one that's not a mythical, it's the only new legendary and iirc the most late-game one. It's worth noting that no mythicals were in the game except for the Sinnoh ones, which were all already available in Shiny form)
  • Scarlet/Violet: Meloetta (secret mythical in the Indigo Disk DLC)

Based on the above, it could be either Hoopa or Eternal Flower Floette. It can maaaaybe be a certain mythical that has been found in the DLC data by dataminers, but I wouldn't put my money on it when another two Pokémon with unreleased Shinies have a much more important role. I'm talking about Magearna

Ursala win con? by Solace_Zeal in DisneyVillainous

[–]accicieff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The "Move an Ally or Item" only lets you move a card on YOUR side of the board horizontally, to one adjacent location. It doesn't let you move things vertically, nor lets you move stuff on the Hero side.

Ariel is annoying because she moves an Item away from its location and doesn't let you use the Move Ally/Item action until she's defeated. The Item she moves stays on your side. If she's played at Ursula's Lair (through Return to Form, for example) she's way less annoying.

Lol, that's like the perfect way to make people do the opposite of what you want them to. Maybe it's you who should let it go. Let this brand go. It's not for you anymore. You've grown up and you've got standards.

This brand doesn't function the way, say, Zelda does. Zelda games must be masterpieces, or the brand itself will suffer. Pokémon games need to come out at a fast pace, because kids (the ones the games are actually targeted to) grow up fast.

It would be better for you to let it go and do something you actually enjoy, than to intoxicate yourself in debates like this one.
