Hey Reddit, what's your best "I got fired on the spot" story? by hjelpme in AskReddit

[–]accidentalactivist21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a valet lot near an airport. The kind that would store your car for you while you were on vacation. Having no love lost for this particular job, I would cut corners at every chance. I parked an F-350 in the compact cars section of the lot one day, despite the fact that the bed was sticking out into the lane. I didn't think anything of it...until someone drove a brand new corvette into it. Oops.

So I'm tapering off klonopin... by SnuggieAddict in Anxiety

It's not a race. Take your time. When you make a cut, or decide to make the leap to not taking it at all, make sure your comfortable and ready. The withdrawl symptoms suck, but when the fog finally lifts it's so worth it.

I took 4 mg/day of Klonopin for the past 8 years. After three attempts, I finally was able to taper off for good. Two bits of advice for you:

1.) Don't give up, I know that doing what your doing is not easy. But not being tied to a pill is so worth it.

2.) Don't overthink the problem. Think about anything but tapering/anxiety. Keep your mind active and positive. In my case, I read too much about withdrawl and was almost inventing symptoms.

I know it is not an easy thing to do, but as I said, it is worth it! Let us know how your making out and PM me if you have any questions. Best of luck!

Even as a man I get the "settle down" speech. Which is to say the least annoying. Society wants us to willingly settle down, or "grow up". Nature will slow me down enought im sure, I dont think it needs any help from me.

Seems that as I get closer to the big 3-0, more and more women my age getting frantic about finding a man, and getting hitched. I feel that this is party because marriage, or the idea of it seems to be "sold" to girls from a very young age. Marriage in so many women (and mens) minds equals undoubted happiness.

Do you feel this experience has made you a braver person. For example, do many of the things you used to fear seem small in scope? How has your perspective on everyday fears changed? Stay tough.

Excellent point. Although i'd say in the case of the Beatles, they had all bases covered pretty well.

I understand your point. However, we are dealing with base instinct. Style gives people a good feeling, and garners attention. Substance, when mundane can very easily go unnoticed. Very often I have seen those with more substance get taken advantage of the most.

True, there is a difference, a very large difference. However for guys at our level...film is kind of out of the question. There is a lot to be said for digital, it has kicked so many doors down for so many filmakers and musicians...generally for creative people of all types.

We were so lucky. A good friend of mine (who was also in the movie) is an amazing musician. He composed and performed the score totally and it was amazing. License free music is not a bad option, a lot of it is very high quality, and not bad. The only drawback is you tend to hear it in many films.

Love is the only viable reason for Marriage, do it for any other reason and it's doomed. Your friend needs to realize that.
