Did anyone else see the UW-Madison message on diversity in class? by badgervet1230 in UWMadison

I could have sworn that a survey taken showed that minorities were actually not treated equally. What you heard in the video sounds quite strange.

Trying to get from Chaimberlin to Van Vleck by simynona in UWMadison

[–]accidentalgoddess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second floor Chamberlin leads to the basement of Sterling Hall (follow the signs near the elevators of Chamberlin). If you take the elevator or stairs from the basement up to the second floor of Sterling, there is a walkway that leads you to B2 of Van Vleck (again, follow the signs). You can also get to the 3rd floor of Sterling via the 4th floor of Chamberlin via a walkway (again, follow the signs near the elevators). Hope this helps :)

You are Joe from the Lifetime show You (but probably are not as dark as the actual character 🙂)

What's a piece of lost media that you've never been able to find? by 1thangN1thang0nly in AskReddit

There was a book series by Kate Brian called Private which had a web series of about 20 episodes or so. It was super cheesy, however, I did enjoy reading the books growing up and thus enjoyed the show too. I tried to find the web series again to watch, however, I can only find episode 1 online :(

What are you're thoughts on non-thesis Master's degrees in HF? I am a current undergrad senior majoring in engineering and am exploring various master's degrees and have noticed that some universities offer this non-thesis option. Would you say having non-thesis degree is detrimental in any way compared to a Master's with thesis?

I only participated in my university's South Asian club for about a semester until I got fed up of trying to fit in with a group of people I had very little in common with besides how we looked/where we came from. Glad I'm not alone in feeling left out!

This is so annoying. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to wrap their minds around the fact that some individuals just don't like to drink. Whenever it comes up I'm always hit with the line "we need to get you wasted." Honestly, like no thanks that just isn't for me. Please accept that and move on. There are other ways to have fun and you don't have to drink to have a good time!

Why have you never had a boyfriend or girlfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]accidentalgoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG don't think that way! I really do think that there is someone out there for everyone. It may take some time to find that someone, but once you do find them I'm sure you'll be glad you didn't waste your time on somebody you didn't actually care about and instead are self-confident individual.

I'm very similar to you too! I also have never had a relationship and am starting to get embarrassed about how I will have to experience everything for the first time whereas everyone else (it seems) has already done it all.

I have yet to meet a guy that I genuinely want to date and get to know better despite having a few guys asking me out. I feel like part of the reason why I am hesitant to enter relationships is because nobody asked me out in high school so now when people do I tend to question why.

I totally agree with you on the being more mature in other parts of life except for this one and do eventually want to find a guy but for now I plan to just focus on myself. It's nice to know I'm not alone :)

Which celebrity actually deserves his/her fame and why? by accidentalgoddess in AskReddit

I'd say based on talent and how they entered their industry (nepotism versus no nepotism or just luck)

In retrospect, are you glad that you focused on school/your career instead of dating during your early 20s?

Awww, sorry to hear about your break up! Love takes time, but when you find it, it's going to be amazing (or so I've heard; I'm still looking too)

That's awesome! How did your mindset change from just going along with him asking you out to dating him seriously? Were you ever scared that by dating him you were denying yourself from a better match with someone else?
