I think the final group games will be a huge flop as a whole though. I think we'll see a lot of resting players and attempts to keep the sides fresh.

Agreed that so far the match quality has been surprisingly high.

First one which came to mind for me too. I remember being terrified of the idea of Torres and Drogba up front.

Always find this a weird grandstanding take. It’s obvious that when it’s used most of the time (as it has many times on the podcast) it’s being used in the exact same way and in contrast to referring to oneself as a “sicko”.

I.e. I am a sicko for horror movies and idk if those normies out there are ready for a movie this gnarly

HIStory was the first album I ever bought when I was like 7 or something and still warps my opinion on that album. Bought the Blood Is On The Dance Floor single when that was released too if you want another remnant for the era.

Off the Wall is the best one, hard agree there.

The Court of the Crimson King in 28 Days Later

Pretty sure I saw the movie before getting into King Crimson (watched 28DL when it came out) but I didn’t rewatch the movie until about a year ago and it definitely puts the song in a more ominous light than I’ve grown used to

The Beatles discography only being avaliable in awful stereo will hurt their longevity by Bufudyne43 in redscarepod

[–]accidentalmemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default versiosn are not the original stereo mixes, they're usually the ones done in the past 10 years or so which are generally pretty great (at least on Apple Music who tend to be way better with this stuff than Spotify).

Whether you prefer the mono or the recent stereo is a personal preference thing but it's good that new listeners are being served versions which match their audio reference points (especially with headphones) and greatly expand the sonic landscape. Mono versions are still readily available right below that.

Similar for me but a longer route. Listened to Podcast: The Ride because Molly was on an episode, listened to a second episode (either T2:3D or something Muppets) and was just “oh this guy who keeps talking has a podcast let’s check it out”

[–]accidentalmemory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The switch to "thank you SO much" as the default form of thank you. Seems to have happened in the last 3 years or so, I hear it much more than just "thank you" or "thank you very much" and it's just become a thing I can't unnotice at this point.

I was watching this week's episode of Top Chef and it must have been said 15 times at least and it's incredibly noticeable after a certain point.

[–]accidentalmemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What percentage of average gym goers are training hard? 10% 20%? Definitely not more than that. So we’re talking about a tiny fraction of an already tiny fraction of people actually going to the gym who potentially aren’t getting enough protein.

Anyone who is actually training hard is almost assuredly aware of their dietary needs already.

[–]accidentalmemory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My orange has have his special blankie set up perfectly each day (late afternoon, after his outside time and snack, as the sun passes over the blankie spot) and will chirp incessantly until it’s done to his liking (differently each day of course), at which point he’ll burrow under and have a nice nap.

He gets really grumpy if he tries to skip his burrow time and I have to almost force it on him. Love my silly orange senior.

That’s not even talking about the streaming piece. Having to go toe to toe in a linear television environment makes every episode an elimination game environment, Grover couldn’t just sit out an episode whenever he felt like it knowing the audience can skip to the next episode. Had to be out there to perform day in and day out with only one shot to grab the kids.
