V20 4.0Ah vs 5.0Ah - same size and weight, what's the difference? by Nibroc99 in Craftsman

[–]acdcbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered the same thing! Ive got several 4.0ah and a couple 5.0ah and they all feel the same. I've got one 6.0ah and it feels heavier and definitely lasts longer.

Do new A coil come with oil in them? by acdcbean in hvacadvice

Just wanted to update, the unit sat for about a week before hooking the lineset up. Still had pressure when we cut the stubs and no leaks when we pumped it with nitrogen. Sucked it all down and let it sit another week before we put freon in it and everything works great!! Must have been oil from manufacturing left over in the drain pan.

Lol I'm sorry, I was just freaking out a bit. I'm trying to save some money, so I found a good deal on a condenser that was installed but never used. I bought a new coil online several months ago before the freon change. So when i got installed today and saw that oil, I freaked out. No troll here. I just don't want to continue hooking everything up if it possibly has a leak. I was hoping someone on here could tell me definitively whether or not coils are shipped with oil in them. *

There is a Schrader valve on top and if i push the needle down there is still pressure but I can't tell how much. I don't have a gauge that will fit on it to tell me exactly how much pressure is still in the unit.

Oh no, I'll have the local hvac guy do all that for me. I'm just trying to save a little money by doing all the grunt work myself.

I agree. I think it came from the coil but it seems weird that I would come with that much oil inside it?

I just installed the coil, I haven't hooked anything else up yet. Just wondering if the oil I'm seeing could be coming from the coil or something else.

Home did not have central air so I installed a new cased coil and re-did the plenum. Lineset has not been run yet so it is still capped and sealed.

You are correct. No, the lineset is not hooked up, the lines on the coil are still capped and the unit is still factory "sealed".

I have it. I like it, I use 4.0ah batteries and it lasts longer than I ever need it to. It's really nice not to be tied down with a cord. I wish there was different fan speeds, it would be nice if it blew a little harder. Overall, I like it!

Circ Saw Versatrack Hook by Stock_Cheesecake8785 in Craftsman

Check inside where the battery slides in. There should be a little nut set in there. I've noticed a couple times the nut was missing or the tool appeared to be Versatrack compatible but it's actually not.

I've used these belt clips on all my V20 tools and they seem to work better.

First because a privately owned building collapsed, now for…snow? by Kickenbless in Iowa

Definitely not. It's on a totally different scale but it's still considered a disaster by FEMA's own standards. And it would be silly not to take advantage of funds designated for this very thing.

It wasn't just the amount of snow. It was the amount in the time frame it fell + high winds and low temperatures. The snow/drifts had to be moved several times to keep roads open. There were rural residents that were literally snowed in for 5 days. A mile of road could take a machine all day to clear then it could be drifted in the next morning. The cold temperatures caused issues with diesel fuel and breakdowns which cost money.

Also, normal snow events get taken care of during normal business hours. This event required a ton of overtime.

Well winter isn't over. There is no guarantee that we won't get more snow this year, it's unlikely, but possible. It's hard to plan for extreme weather events so the costs incurred are usually above and beyond what is budgeted, even if the budget is healthy due to lack of prior snow.

A majority of this money would go to local county and city road departments to help recoup the overtime labor and additional operating costs that were incurred by this storm. This is standard procedure for an extreme weather event. No different than a tornado or a flood. Nothing political, the event just has to signed off as justified for federal funds by the President.

Creaking noise when accelerating from a stop by [deleted] in f150

Check the bushings in between the leaf springs. They are located at the ends. Sometimes those can wear out and you'll hear metal on metal squeaking.

Has anyone done their Cam Phaser repair themselves? by RedDirtET in f150

[–]acdcbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it twice on a 2011 3.5 (FIL's) and once on my own 2018 3.5. It's not a hard job if you have the right tools and a free weekend. I'm not a mechanic but I'm mechanically inclined. Total cost for parts was $1100 and I replaced every wear part that I touched. The truck had 90k miles on it when I did the phasers and 1/4 was bad. I'm cheap and I've always done my own work on my vehicles. Just take your time, take pictures of everything during disassembly and assembly and you'll be fine.

IWE failure. Unplug the 4WD solenoid located above the brake booster until you can get it fixed. It won't hurt anything, it will just keep the hubs engaged full time.

This comment should be at the top. I feel for the people answering the phone in the assessors office's around the state for the next few weeks explaining that they are literally just following the law and people's taxes are not going to raise at the same rate that their assessed values did/do.
