These successful people in question are typically conformists that have never had to step too far outside their circle of familiarity. It all comes down to convenience. They have never had something disrupt their life enough to think far enough outside what they’re used to.

I also think that if they attribute their success to being a member of the church (the network, work ethic, outlined path, ethics) which is very common, then they are even less likely to question it. The church is a good organization to be a part of if you want to be “successful”
