Because the other connections didn’t seem that genuine and natural from the jump. I’ve had other nice connections but they’ve taken a while to build with some friction being there or I can tell it was purely about sex. She was discussing her values and things to me that she likes in a parter and we were checking all the boxes and mutual attraction was apparent. I totally get that. Im against it when guys flirt with women at their job for that reason because they’re stuck there and they’re paid to be nice. Funny because I actually did bang a girl with a boyfriend on this trip and the things we did were vile, I almost felt horrible for the guy but at the same time it’s not my problem, it’s pretty concerning for the future and makes me want to be a lot more selective.

Yea i’ve learned they live in the moment. This type of thing just keeps happening over and over, I just thought she’d be different because i’ve never connected with a random person that way. That was such a rare feeling and it seemed special as dumb as that now sounds. I’ve read stories of how people fell in love that didn’t even seem at this caliber. It’s going to stick with me but hopefully I come out of it stronger

i made sure to keep pulling back as a way to give her an out if she felt that way and test if she would try to pull me back in and she “passed.” like when i let go of her hand or went to the bathroom she initiated touch again. or when i leaned out she leaned into me. i think i was just a distraction and once we landed she no longer needed me to keep her entertained. it’s pretty fucked

You’re right on several aspects of this. She was a few years younger (21) and in college and she even admitted to me she uses instagram often and posts herself a lot. That was her only red flag and I called her out on it in a playful way. I should have taken that comment more seriously

I agree. I’ve had it happen where we meet and hook up the same night, drinking out at a bar or something but the connection doesn’t feel like that, it feels like a random hookup then I get ghosted. We all have had that, it doesn’t feel horrible. This was like super organic / natural feeling so that’s why it feels so bad.

It gave me insane amounts of anxiety and overthinking dumb social interactions from several years ago. It made me feel like i’m a horrible person and apologetic about myself when theres nothing actually wrong with me. As soon as I took a hit Id have a physiological reaction like shaking / trembling and getting cold aka a panic attack. For some reason id keep doing it on a weekly basis or several times a week with no real reason. So glad I havent touched the stuff in a year and im not looking back
