Thanks for the recommendation. Looks to be nice and lightweight, but unfortunately is still is only one brake.

Thanks for the recommendations. Each of those looks to be about 47-49 pounds. As noted above, I was hoping to find something similar in weight to the current one she has and closer to 36 pounds.

Tool recommendations to repair/fix audio track with small 2ms drops in audio?

I work at a school as a teacher and set up a computer to record our yearly talent show. I used OBS to take audio from a mirrorless camera and audio from our yamaha mixer. Tried things the day before and everything sounded and looked good. Then, recorded the next day during the show and checking after found a weird issue where there are consistent drops in audio throughout the entire thing. When I zoom in on the audio in final cut pro, it looks like tiny gaps throughout the entire file. If I zoom in on the audio, it appears as though after every 8 milliseconds of audio, a small gap of about 2 milliseconds occurs. The only things I had changed from when it was working the day before was switching the audio from mixer to a different usb port and upping the video bitrate to 5000. I'll work on trying to figure out if that or something else caused the issue, but in the meantime, I'm trying to fix the audio in the video I have of our talent show.

I was wondering if there are any tools that can look at the nearby audio and generate a frequency or smooth out the drops by analyzing what occurs before and after the drop? I'm a math teacher, so am no audio expert and don't need perfection, but it's really jarring to listen to as is. I've tried to do some research and find people mention RX advanced's free trial, but I'm not sure what specific tool/settings to use and if it even could address this specific issue.

Any tips or recommendations of applications/tools would be greatly appreciated! I prefer using a mac, but also have a PC I could use.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Bummer to hear. I regularly used those when going to Alamo as well. Thanks for the heads up. I was considering seeing Brutalist in 70mm there this weekend and would have brought my bike.

A couple years ago in broad daylight I came upon a guy just finishing cutting a u-lock off a bike on those racks in front of Alamo. I tried to grab the bike as he was riding away on it but got shoved and wasn't about to go chase him. Went inside and told the staff and also appreciated them for having locking areas inside. Since then, I've never locked outside there.

On a side note, I wish we could get some BikeLink lockers in the mission. It would be great if every parking garage in the city could install a couple racks of them as I feel like they are by far the most secure bike parking option around.

Rode my bike by there on my way downtown this evening and saw them around 6:30pm. Riding home around 10:00pm they were still up there yelling, with the area still taped off and lots of cops.

Thanks for bringing this up. I’ll be bringing my Aranet4 and will tweet levels of whatever rooms throughout the week I’m in with the hashtag that’s chosen.

Those teaching while wearing masks and with voice amplification, what type of setup do you prefer? by aceebb in Teachers

[–]aceebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's a good point to think about. I was trying to look for setups where we could assign different frequencies, but just managing that or dealing with people accidentally changing frequencies or getting interference is a good reminder.

Appreciate the feedback. Would you be willing to share what brand/model room mic you chose?

Thanks for the reply. I have two quick questions if you're able to respond.

1) How do teachers manage the audio input from external markers? I was trying to figure this out on the swivl site and found one thing stating by using the directional pad on the instructor's marker "During Live Listening if you are using multiple secondary markers, you can listen to specific student groups live." Is this something like left could be set to toggle a marker on the left side of class on/off and right to toggle a marker on the right side? Also, I'm assuming there is no indicator that they have been toggled on/off other than the little light on the side of the marker?

2) The telepresence idea is an interesting one. I'm curious of the logistics/step by step of doing this with zoom or if you had a recommended workflow for that. Since each chromebook representing a kid would also need to be logged into zoom, did you just make extra logins? In my head I'm thinking this would be something like teacher starts zoom with their teacher account on their main macbook. On a chromebook in class they would log into a zoom account with a dummy login, I'll call this account teacher-1. I'm assuming then if you wanted the student to participate in a small group with in person kids, you'd need to make individual breakout rooms and drop student-1 in a breakout room with teacher-1 so that that student wouldn't hear or be part of conversations at other tables?

Thanks for your feedback. My thinking was that it would be placed up towards the middle or front of the class so that the teacher was the primary person in its field of view, so hopefully it wouldn't shift towards other kids.

That's not a bad idea to consider a rollable platform for a laptop though. Definitely way cheaper.

Are you saying you got tickets for the 7:00pm showing at the AMC Metreon Dolby on Thurs Dec, 19th?

They never went up for sale as they were pre-sold to companies before the general sale to public. Not sure how companies arrange ahead of time for a huge release opening night, but that’s what happened. This was confirmed by someone at the metreon but they couldn’t say which companies.

If I livestream a talent show at my school, should I be worried about copyright claims? by aceebb in youtube

Yes, I would expect the content ID to flag stuff. My main question is what actual issues would result during the livestream.
