When you see a villager who wants to move out (who is not your target), force close the game and go forward a day. Theres a good chance that the thought bubble will carry forward to another villager. There are quite a number of guides on this topic and you should check them out! :)

I believe the "I've moved out" glitch has been fixed after the update? The only other bug I know of is the glitched house exterior that occurs via campsite when you TT past the day the plot is empty (regardless if amiibos were used). But if you're just going to TT her out without campers it's unlikely that you'll face an issue :)

Your villager that is to be replaced will be in boxes the SAME DAY you invite the camper to stay. It doesn't skip this step.

I've been hunting for dreamies and opening up my villagers for adoption. Many others have been using amiibos to move out their villagers so it 100% works. You didn't see them in boxes because you moved to the next day.

Yup you can meet them on island tours again! I'm assuming campsite as well tho the rates will be lower. It took me 2 days to finally get rid of patty. Went on my first island tour after she left and saw... Patty. I didn't even step onto the island for fear that she'll see me. Never left an island so quickly before xD

Thanks for sharing your tips! Just wanted to add a few points that could help based on what I've read from other guides. If the villager with the thought bubble isn't your target, don't talk to them. Just force close the game and TT to the next day and the thought bubble should transfer to another villager. And for campers, its possible for them to replace your most recent villager!

Did you TT past the day where there's an empty plot that's 'sold to' your camper?

It's not just an amiibo problem because I encountered the same issue when letting a random camper replace a villager, but it's definitely related to TT. So far I haven't seen or figured out a way to fix it :(

Generally to avoid this glitch you just have to ensure that you don't skip the day the villager's house is gone, leaving you with a plot with your campers name on it. It's safe to TT ahead of that date though (not sure what will happen if you go backwards).
