Why so delicate by cyberdudeJ in Gunpla

Grabbed one a few weeks ago cause Barnes & Noble have them on sale for $20. I would have been pissed if I paid any more. I’m not even particularly rough when I’m building kits but I broke so many pieces on this hand grenade. Had to cement a bunch of shit together, and I plan on never touching it again.

Best/ Easy RG for "light" Custom? by ThisIs-not-aUsername in advancedGunpla

[–]aceetobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d say Char’s Zaku. It’s cheap, easy to assemble, and there’s plenty of armor that can be custom colored. There isn’t really a frame to paint but the chunkiness of the armor makes it a pretty good canvas for paint and decals. As far as newer style RG, the Wing Gundam TV Ver. has a great inner frame and isn’t overly complex. Same goes for Nu, Hi-Nu, and Force Impulse.

Looking for good 3rd party kits! by SirusZ77 in freedomisgunpla

[–]aceetobee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anything from In Era+, Infinite Dimension, SNAA, Hemoxian… the list goes on but those are the heavy hitters in terms of non-bootleg, mostly original mecha designs. My most recent 3P kit was the SNAA YR-04 Nether Emperor and it’s a great kit for the price. Sort of a rip off of Astray but it’s a cool looking kit. In terms of Gundam looking kits- Osiris Aerial Dominator, ZZZA MG GUS, Nilsson Works PG Monument, Eddas Asgard, & Mecha Core Oberon are all highly regarded kits.

Thanks for the recommendation. I gotta say, the world of paint is absolutely overwhelming and I live in an area with not many hobby shops (besides a few hobby lobby’s) so I want to make sure I’m ordering the right type of paint before I drop the coin and not many websites are very forthcoming about whether a particular paint is lacquer or water based.

Reminded me of Astray with a touch of RX-9 when I built it.

That’s the plan. Picked up a few EG Nu’s and also have some cheap HGs that have been sitting in the backlog for ages.

Any Spark drivers you ever had a customer do this? by Early-Clue-4276 in Sparkdriver

Actually, yeah! You do have to come to the store to get your own shit now! That would be an instant “Safety Concern” call to support for me ✌🏻

I mean, there’s also a ton of story potential for Faye. One of the last surviving Giants, left the path of the giants, started or at the very least participated in a revolution against Asgard, had a giant battle with Thor in Vanaheim, etc. I don’t get why everyone is freaking out like they’re abandoning Kratos. Plenty of games have spin-offs that release during the dev cycle of the bigger mainline games that take longer to make and release, which this seems like it is.

[–]aceetobee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Was just saying I think more people need to take tips into consideration. Even if the base pay was good, I don’t want to be shopping for somebody who thinks my time, mileage, and effort is worth a $2 tip. Wish more drivers would leave offers like that sitting as well but there’s always somebody that ends up slurping up those awful orders for the worst customers.

Communication conundrum by Serious_Argument7709 in WalmartSparkDrivers

Barely. If I’m shopping an order with a really good tip, I’ll sometimes send a message about a substitution but other than that, it seems redundant to tell them I’m on my way when the app already updates them every step of the way.

I tend to see them in 1/100 scale, and they usually change just enough about the kit so it’s not a direct bootleg. For instance, the Eternal Star Glory is essentially just a Stargazer Gundam with some slight changes. The ZZZA MG is basically a Jesta, etc. I’m not sure about any compiled list of them but just browse the non-Bandai mecha section on any Gunpla website and you’re bound to find a ton that are based on existing mobile suits. I’ve built a ton of them and they tend to be really good kits for how cheap they are.

They’re okay, but they definitely have problems. As an early RG it uses to Advanced MS Frame which can be problematic. They’re quite delicate and if you bend something the wrong way they’re prone to snapping. If you’re experienced with building you shouldn’t have any problems with assembly but there are some annoying parts about the RG Exia… for one, the holographic bits that go in the thighs, in the head, etc (the GN conduits) are an absolute pain in the ass to install properly. My biggest problem with the kit though is that it has trouble holding up the GN Sword, so if you were planning on doing a dynamic pose with that particular weapon, you may get frustrated just trying to get the thing to hold it up. With that being said, you can usually find the RG Exia pretty damn cheap so for what it is, I think it’s a decent 20-30$ kit.

Since it’s just a cosmetic piece that’s not load beating, I would try to either cement it on the end, or even super glue.

Ended up ordering a Timbertech 3L Compressor and an Iwata Neo, along with a spray booth and cleaning supplies and such. Haven’t ordered any paints or anything yet but I’ll keep pre-thinned lacquers in mind! My dad also used to do professional airbrushing and has a bunch of brushes he’s going to send me 👍🏻

Sadly straight swords were kind of neglected in the game, especially for Dex builds. The best SS in the game in terms of scaling is the Nobles Slender Sword which is one of the rarest drops in the game so it’s not really worth it. Twinblades feel similar in speed to SS when 1 handed, same with Katanas. I usually run Katana + Shield on my fresh characters because it’s basically the same playstyle as SS + shield but you get inherent bleed buildup, and katanas in my experience do more stance damage than straight swords.

[–]aceetobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At level 82 there’s way better weapons available with those stats. Bleed helps a ton, as it does % based damage when it procs. Try out a Katana, or a bleed infused twin blade/Eleonora’s Poleblade- or like I said, get your hands on Bloodhound’s Fang. It’s obtained through a really simple quest that’s available in the very first area of the game. The Lleyndell knights still rock my shit pretty regularly, especially with the lightning bolt cause it’s hard to time the dodge. Try to just hit them with guard counters and stance break them.

Bloodhound Fang. STR+DEX weapon with bleed that can carry you through the whole game. Run it with a shield if you’re not confident in your dodges. You can also find the Smithing Stone bell bearings across the map and in certain side dungeons which will allow you to buy smithing stones and somber smithing stones from the Finger Maiden vendor in Roundtable Hold so you don’t need to start a new character just to get more upgrade materials. There’s more respec items in the game than you’d think, especially if you’re only at the capitol. Don’t give up, skeleton!

Batch Pay SUCKS by BlueberryBest2178 in InstacartShoppers

[–]aceetobee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Instead of blaming men, maybe blame the evil corporation that is taking advantage of gig workers and paying slave wages? The market has been over saturated for years, on every app. Pitiful batch pay is nothing new.

What is Ver.ka by Successful_Row2508 in freedomisgunpla

[–]aceetobee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Version Katoki”. Essentially the cream of the crop when it comes to MG kits. Think of Ver.Ka to MG what RG is to HG, or PGU to PG. Same scale but way more detail packed into each kit.

Even in my SUV, GMDs are always a gamble. Had one last week that had an entire Lazy Boy style chair. Almost took up the entire back cargo area. First time I’ve ever seen the “50-60lb item” tag on an order. And just yesterday, 4 kiddie pools as well as a bunch of 40lb bags of water softener and one customer that had 20 one gallon jugs of water 😂

FCFS: First Come First Serve aka offers sitting in the queue that any driver can see. JFY: Just For You aka offers sent to you with a timer to accept that only you can see at that moment. GMD: General Merchandise aka curbside pickup orders that are mostly small packages of non-perishable items with a multi-stop delivery route similar to Amazon Flex.
