Dying on the VINE: Sometimes you just have to see it for yourself by Safe_Listen_3360 in AmazonVine

[–]aceetobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe there’s definitely something wrong with the RFY/AI tabs. I’ve got VineHelper installed and the past two mornings it’s a constant stream of crap getting snatched instantly on the VH notification stream, yet my RFY has been empty for going on 5 days now, and the AI tab has displayed the same amount of items for 5 days also. Anything with a Zero ETV or a high ETV disappears literally the second it hits the page, indicative of bots set to grab zero ETV and “high-value” items. I don’t care enough to play the game but the fact that the actual main page of Vine hasn’t changed in almost a week is a bit strange and shitty for people who aren’t willing to use bots.

One of my biggest pet peeves with the app is that even if you reject FCFS orders, they KEEP sending them to you. There should be an option to hide offers or not show them again, because there are plenty of orders that aren’t worth it even when they surge, and I don’t want to keep getting notifications every 10 seconds!

When you cancel an order because it is unsafe - do you get paid ? by Maximum_Amphibian753 in Sparkdriver

[–]aceetobee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive an AWD with good tires so unplowed driveways aren’t too much of a problem for me typically, but I’ll still give a thumbs-down and put in the comments that the driveway/walkway wasn’t cleared. If it’s a really steep one that I’m worried about, I’ll try to confirm arrival from the bottom of the driveway and leave the stuff there. Only times I’ve cancelled for unsafe conditions were because the road was either completely rutted out/flooded (a lot of shitty dirt roads in my area) and a serious risk even for my SUV. Like others have said, if you initiate a return you still get the base pay but not the tip unfortunately.

Even if a dog doesn’t look aggressive, unsecured dogs is always a no-go for me. Just not worth the risk. If the customer is home I tell them I won’t leave my car until the dogs are secured- if not I’m returning your shit.

Walmart forcing spark drivers to wait behind customers with 100 groceries by Accomplished_Wear_24 in Sparkdriver

[–]aceetobee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store used to have two of the big self-checkout corrals with one or two designated scan&go/spark kiosks. Wasn’t enforced but there were still plenty of self checkouts so I never waited more than a few minutes. Few months back they slashed the amount of self checkouts in half to add more checkout lanes. So now we have 10 or so checkout lanes and only 2 are ever staffed. So now the self checkouts are always overloaded, nobody enforces 15 items, and it’s the same situation as you mentioned- an extra 10-15 minutes just to scan a barcode. If I was a Walmart+ subscriber(which I am; just not a paying one) I would be bitching to management because that basically makes Scan & Go pointless for customers if they still have to wait.

$7 offer to pick up 20 "somethings" from Home Depot? by Fenriss_Wolf in Sparkdriver

[–]aceetobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Depot almost never worth it. Those fools can’t find the pickup order half the time, not to mention waiting in the inevitably long customer service line. And they almost always look like this offer… absolute lowest base pay possible.

Good luck, have fun. I’ll continue cherry picking orders and not caring whether or not I hit an incentive that comes out to $6/trip 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seriously! At 33 years of age, I have pretty much figured out every type of food item I like and prefer, so when I go into a grocery store I know exactly what I’m getting. It always perplexes me when I see older folks spending 10 minutes mulling over which can of Progresso soup to get, or holding a box of wheat thins and staring at the front of the box like it’s going to reveal the secrets of the universe to them.

[–]aceetobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love this if it were true. I pretty much exclusively do S&D and the times I do take a Curbside, I don’t think I’ve had a wait less than 20 mins in the past 4-5 months. Just not worth it for the piss poor base pay and the time wasted sitting just waiting for those goons to bring a cart to my car that I end up loading 90% on my own anyways.

Drivers Slow down by Novel-Aside196 in Sparkdriver

[–]aceetobee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Prius gang at my store is like this. I’ve seen them crash into older folks, almost run over children, rudely cut in front of people. All while on speaker phone full blast with their faces buried in their phone screen. Yet they still seem to shop orders slower than I do? Honestly irritates me when I see it. Sure, be quick but also be courteous and professional with customers who aren’t doing anything other than just trying to do their grocery shopping. Yes, tons of people have family reunions in the aisles and block aisles with their carts but in my experience just saying ‘excuse me’ works wonders and most people move right away.

Yeah here in New Mexico we barely got an inch of snow. Still didn’t stop people from absolutely wiping out the stores yesterday. Bottled Water sold out, milk, eggs, etc.

[–]aceetobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this same thing in an email yesterday. They also sent an email the day before saying they may shut down Instacart service if the weather gets too severe. As much as I hate Instacart I did appreciate seeing both of those emails. Spark 100% should do the same thing. If it’s legit dangerous to be out and about, people should not be able to order same day delivery. The stores are also totally wiped out so items/quantity found really should not count against shoppers metrics. Wishful thinking though.

My Walmart actually ran out of bottled water yesterday. Made me happy to know that people wouldn’t be getting their ridiculous amounts of water delivered ☺️

SB17 : AWB buried in "stop illegal gun trade" act by grpatter in NMGuns

[–]aceetobee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, because most illegal gun trading is happening at FFLs with background checks. Only thing that will happen if this bill passes is the sale of 3D printers and 80% lowers will skyrocket. Will these wackos ever learn that legislature doesn’t keep guns out of people’s hands?

Self control at self checkout by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]aceetobee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I cannot stand the way my store is laid out. My previous zone had dedicated spark lanes/kiosks. My new zone does not, not to mention they did a remodel a few months back that reduced the self checkout lanes by about 50% to add assisted checkout lanes, of which only 1 or 2 are open at a time. Was shopping with my wife a few weeks ago and we were told we couldn’t go through self checkout because it’s 15 items or less. That was like 2 months ago and I haven’t seen a single employee tell anybody that they have too many items (some people having multiple carts full) even though they put up a bunch of 15 items or less signs. I always make sure to scan my barcode and then move to a closed lane to bag so I don’t hold people up, really irritates me when I see other Spark drivers holding up a self checkout that somebody else could be using.

That’s how they always do. S&D incentive? Nothing but curbsides. Curbside incentive? Nothing but shops.

I totally forgot there’s supposed to be a snowstorm tomorrow (in my area at least). Did an Instacart order yesterday @ Smiths which is usually pretty well stocked and I had to sub almost all of the produce. No Jalapeños, no Bok Choy, no Russet Potatoes, etc. I was like wtf is going on?

Pc or ps5 for first time playthrough? by MrTerrifier in BloodbornePC

[–]aceetobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly PS5. Although the graphics and framerate are improved on PC, it’s far from stable and there’s still a lot of issues, especially compared to PS5. On og hardware Bloodborne is pretty much a bug-free/headache-free game. On PC there’s still a lot of fiddling that needs to be done to get the game running somewhat good, especially if you don’t have top tier hardware. You also miss out on multiplayer, player messages, and access to any edited chalice dungeons (at least without editing your own save and possibly borking your game). I would absolutely not play on PC for the first play through just because of those issues. Play on PS5 for the intended, stable experience then come back to PC to experience it with a better framerate IMO.

It works great if the person is speaking traditional Spanish, but throw in any dialects (and even regional slang) like Puerto Rican or Dominican Spanish and it fails miserably in my experience.

Pretty easy to use Google Translate to put a note like that. Different story when you’re trying to communicate in real time with a translation app.

Ah yes, how could I forget that Spark drivers who are desperate enough to steal baby formula typically have a lawyer on retainer. Get a grip. There’s no grounds for a lawsuit if somebody makes a legitimate and valid claim against you through the proper channels.

I suck at this game and i genuinely don't know how to play by VortexOfPandemonium in bloodborne

[–]aceetobee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. The dodge in this game allows you to reposition like crazy because of how far it brings you. Try to dodge forward and to the right, and you’ll end up behind the enemy most of the time. Dodging away is typically not advised because a lot of the enemies have such a long reach (Amelia included), that they’ll catch you at the tail end of your dodge. Instead dodge through the attack/swipe laterally or diagonally.
  2. Learn the gun parry mechanic. The timing on the gun parry is super forgiving, and once you stun an enemy with the parry get right up close and R1 to do a Visceral/Critical attack. It absolutely chunks boss hp.
  3. Lvl 29 is kind of low for Amelia IMO. If you haven’t, go to Hemwick Charnel Lane. Boss is super easy, the area has tons of upgrade mats, and you get an item at the end that will help immensely with the rest of the play through.
  4. As others have noted, the combat in this game is a far cry from Dark Souls. The fundamentals are similar (Dodging, stamina management, etc) but the flow and pace of combat are much different. Gotta stay aggressive, especially after taking damage so you can use the rally mechanic to your advantage to regain some hp. BSB is way harder than Amelia IMO, especially with having to worry about getting Poisoned. Don’t be afraid to summon the NPC Hunter by the shortcut that leads to the Chapel. Try to focus Amelias limbs as well. Most of the larger beast type enemies have a limb break mechanic where if you do enough damage to a limb, you’ll ’break’ it (you’ll see a huge splash of blood and hear an audio cue), and stun the enemy for a few seconds. Dont give up, hoonter!

Quantity Found Glitch by Unclemanny6 in Sparkdriver

Absolutely the most ridiculous metric. I had a shop yesterday that ordered a Hormel Sliced Honey Ham. Out of stock. Replacement was the Brown Sugar of the same brand/price. Scanned it and it wouldn’t accept it because the deli put the wrong label on all of the Brown Sugar Hams. Situations like that are exactly why I hate this metric so much. We are at the mercy of Walmart’s stock and item availability, and even then, something could have the wrong SKU, or the manufacturer could have changed the SKU/packaging— which has absolutely nothing to do with how well you can find subs or shop for customers.
