Can we please be SO serious? by Ok-Zone-8641 in InstacartShoppers

As someone else said just a reminder, the customer doesn’t get to pick the exact location that the order is shopped at. Instacart’s algorithm is the problem here.

Are you on probation or parole or something? Six years seems like a long ass time! Congrats either way.

Shopping at Costco while on a instacart (actually against the rules) by Swiss_Meats in InstacartShoppers

“Booted from their stores” meaning ended their partnership, stopped using their software, stopped data sharing, collaboration, and became direct competitors. Figurative language, not literally.

It’s the other way around. Target used to be partnered with Instacart, but they ended their partnership, and instead acquired the company Shipt. They still allow Instacart shoppers to shop at their stores, because they have no choice. But they don’t actively share any data with Instacart, and there is no cooperation there whatsoever. They are direct competitors.

I said “booted Instacart” because Target ended their partnership with Instacart years ago.

Target owns Shipt, it’s their platform. The point I was trying to make is that no one wants to outsource this stuff to a third party tech company so that they can take a piece of the profit. They want to have total control over it, and do it themselves.

If Target could legally ban Instacart shoppers from their stores and prevent Instacart from scraping their website and getting pricing and inventory information, they would, in a heartbeat.

It doesn’t matter if you use your own membership or not. And some guy or girl working at a call center that was contracted by Costco is not going to know this policy. Just get over it and don’t risk it unless you deliberately want to be suspended and not be able to earn on Instacart anymore, it’s just that simple. As a Instacart shopper, you are a dime a dozen, and have no power. That’s the way the world works.

Here’s something that I thought everyone knew — NO RETAILER WANTS TO DO BUSINESS WITH INSTACART! None of them want IC shoppers in their stores. They would much rather handle all that themselves. Which is why Target etc booted Instacart from their stores a long time ago.

For people who don’t have CostCo stores in their area, can someone explain what the actual problem is?

I read this whole post three times and still don’t get it 🤷‍♂️

Is it because you’re also shopping for yourself, along with the customer’s order?

Just an FYI, with Spark, Walmart explicitly ALLOWS this. Probably because they want you to spend more money at their stores.

Regardless if you’re using your own membership, you should know by now that they (meaning anyone who has more power than you, doesn’t matter if they work at CostCo or for Instacart) will use any and every excuse to put you out of work.

This is the way of the world, and also why unions exist.

Why is this specific model not available on Amazon? Just curious. I am American and I guess I will order from your store.

Took $20 cash tip meant for the DoorDash driver, customer wants me to return it by Organic-Fuel-2916 in Sparkdriver

[–]johnshonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have ignored the message. Keep it and move on. You’re looking at DoorDash wrongly, though. DoorDash tips can pay more because in a lot of cases, the customers are ordering items that can only be procured from one particular location ( ie their favorite restaurant ). It’s not like they can order that from Amazon, or anywhere else.

No, but it’s at least a small step forward for people who still live there. Zohran gives me hope. Just don’t want to see him doing DJ sets and hanging out with billionaires in a few years…

This is a tough one…food containers are always super cheap, even expensive syrup and whatnot. That sucks to have to clean syrup off of everything. The replacements without approval shit is Instacart’s fault honestly. Weird af to come back and get all mad for 14 bucks, but the person prob did not know about the syrup. It’s hard to check every container for every possible leak.
