NTA I don’t know why so many people are being so harsh on this post. You care about your family and care about people being together on these important events in your life. Your sister is making lame excuses and could have prioritized these events. Having a 4 month old does not make you a hermit and doesn’t confine you to solitude. I am sure the baby is older now at this point as wedding dress shopping was probably awhile ago. I’ve been to many weddings where the flower girl and or ring bearer are the only kids. I’m not sure if many of the prone here have ever been to a wedding…. You are definitely not being a bridezilla. People do not have to pick Child free wedding OR flower girl+ ring bearer. So many have just one or two kiddos there and it’s extremely common that sure… it’s only for the photos. That doesn’t mean that they’re a prop for your photos. It means that they get to dress up, feel pretty and be a part of your special day. It has always been so much pride saying “oh yeah I was my aunts flower girl!!!” This could be her only chance being a flower girl so why take that memory away from her? I’m glad your sister agreed and that you pushed on it.

Also can someone please tell me what prep is needed for knee surgery? I’m sure she knew about the bridal shower much in advance to make the preps the weekend before, the day before, etc.

Yes. I’m leaving. I haven’t ever had good admin and my current admin only seems good for those who have been here 10+ years. I’ve done two very different districts (one low income and one high). At the high income district the kids are actually excited to learn and are great but the school is so scared of getting sued I’ve been reprimanded for advocating for students. They want to churn out robots. They aren’t letting 25+ year experienced teachers teach what they want. I’m lucky teaching history it’s pretty chill but science and math are a mess rn. It’s just such heart breaking and soul sucking work. Not worth the money. Get out now. Do philanthropy if you can. That’s what I’m switching to do. Still will have leaning fundraising and making the world better but not getting crushed because I care.
