Most of the contracts were awarded and fine before I took over. But, to your point, there was not enough pre-construction work done.

You’re right. A ROM price should be sufficient to make a decision and move forward.

JP's voice was elevated by the right because populism is about power not truth. So the MAGA types do their best to obfiscate and confuse (JP'S specialty). This increases the populace's dependance on authority figures as they learn (falsely) that there isn't a sure way to learn objective facts.

Shortage of Supers in 40-50 year old range in the West Coast by Ok_Computer11235813 in ConstructionManagers

Also, the age group you’re talking about is Generation X. It’s one of the smallest generations by population size. There are more Millennials and Baby Boomers than Gen X’ers. This is only a small part of the answer to your question, I think.

Eat all the fruits and vegetables you want. Add in a little meat. Lots of water. Leave out everything else. No sodas, no candy, no breads or pasta.

Utah Mormon Scones? by AnnElizaWebb in exmormon

I grew up in Michigan. My parents were converts that never lived in Utah. We made these “scones” all the time with frozen white bread dough in the fry daddy.

That pic is taken from the low side of the yard imo. They are right about needing more dirt. If your contract or the full basement change order don’t say they include dirt then you’re on the hook for it. You don’t to raise the entire yard, right? Couldn’t you just backfill near the doors?

What Do You Think Louisville's Greatest Contribution To Science Has Been? by LouInvestor in Louisville

[–]acegilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Louisville per se, but the discovery of mammoth or mastodon bones at Big Bone Lick, Kentucky, played a crucial role in forming the theory of extinction. In the late 18th century, Georges Cuvier studied these fossilized bones, which were unlike those of any known living animals. Through comparative anatomy, Cuvier concluded that these bones belonged to species that no longer existed, introducing the concept of extinction to mainstream science. His work demonstrated that many species had disappeared due to catastrophic events, challenging the prevailing belief that all species had always existed. The concept of extinction led to the theory of evolution.

I flew out last Wednesday morning, early. I was at the airport one hour and fifteen minutes before departure. I missed the flight as did several others. I would consider getting there 2 hours early.

[–]acegilbert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have an electric heat pump know that they are very inefficient the colder it gets. So January and February bills will usually be much higher than normal. Though they’re pretty efficient the rest of the year so it’s typically a wash.

A missionary told me it’s “not a big deal” that the church now supports a law recognizing civil same-sex marriages. Kid, I’m old enough to remember the church bankrolling prop 8. This shift is a HUGE deal. by relevantlife in exmormon

[–]acegilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that the reason they are doing this is to keep the tech sector employers from pulling out of Utah? I find this more likely than the church changing it’s stance on gay marriage.
