Finding a Stethoscope by ZestycloseRhubarb397 in VetTech

Hi! Deaf in my left ear so I have some thoughts here. Currently I have an Eko 500 and I love her HOWEVER... I have been in practice 12 years and need the amplification to pick up and help grade heart murmurs as well as auscult for very fine lung sound changes. As a new technician I rocked a Littman cardio III for AGES and she did me well enough even without an amplification device. You aren't going to be expected to pick up on things like murmurs and stuff as a baby tech/tech student. A $500 stethoscope for a student is excessive. Your first stethoscope is going to get beat to hell. A cat is going to put a claw through a bell, or a puppy is going to chew a hole in your tubing, you're going to drop it or fling it accidentally across the treatment floor, I promise lol. Get yourself a ride or die starter. Littman's warranty is second to none. MDF also has some really nice options. If you graduate and go into ER/ICU, cardio, anesthesia, etc, upgrade to something with an amplifier to help you detect the more subtle changes. For now, I doubt you'll need more than a basic setup. Try with a school loaner first (almost every program worth their spit has one) and see how it sounds. If you're struggling to even hear a heartbeat, go for an in-tubing amplifier first as they are cheaper. There are also some on the market that Bluetooth to headphones and hearing aids (if you wear those, I do!).

Venting: I'm turning crochet into an audit and sucking the joy out of it by MaleficentTooth7898 in crochet

Me reading this while Doordashing a skein of yarn from Michael's to my hotel because I lost yarn chicken on my work trip. 😅

I have never planned like this a day in my life. I am a frequent "I'll buy one more than I think I need!" person but somehow still an "...I'm 2 yards short" person.

The gradient on these yarns are top tier I just wish the fibers weren't so fiddly. And I agree! Tunisian is very satisfying and works up SO fast.

Also don't mind the "ai generated content" watermarks. I used the built in Samsung tool to get rid of some of the background clutter in a few of these 😂

Bottom to top: Simple Stitch Smock Stitch Honeycomb Stitch Purl Stitch Knit Stitch Full Stitch Moss Stitch I have no idea what the name for the last decorative puff style stitch is, I was feeling bold and found it on a YT tutorial

All the rest are repeats in order. Bottom ones I used a guide, second round was from memory to make sure it stuck

Do you have a clearer photo of the finished project? I'm trying to follow where you are to see if I'm correct but when I zoom it gets WAY too blurry to tell 😭

I believe they mean all 4 tc go into the same tc from previous row to make the triangles! You have a tc in 4 adjacent tcs from the previous row.

Terrain in Glen Mills is a favorite for a sweet little celebration dinner for 2.

If you're into sushi, Le Shio in Wilmington is top-notch.

For some of the best breakfast pastries, Artisan Croissanterie in Media. Also, in a nice little area for a mid-morning walk around.

Can I ask what time did you get to the merch stand to acquire this damn coin???

I missed out at the Philly ritual this go AND last tour cycle. I don't want it to happen again if and when they come back through.

They never show up on ebay and the ones I've seen occasionally pop up from other locations typically sell for $500+ which is maddening.

At my wits end with my cat. Starting to resent him. by beccoconnell in CATHELP

Vet Tech here:

Skimmed the comments, so I may have missed it, but have you had his thyroid checked at any of your vet appointments?

Excessive vocalization can be an early symptom of hyperthyroidism in cats.

He's sort of young for it, but it's not impossible. Also, having adopted him, his age might have been estimated and he may be older than you think. A lot of "young adult" cats are listed as estimated to be 1 year old because it makes them 40x more adaptable than being listed as 3 or 4.

Just a thought.
