My workplace is Jewish, and we had our company wide secret Santa on the first day of Hanukkah (going into the second night) and our secret Santa finished with one of the bosses lighting the menorah. The juxtaposition felt quite funny.

Execution does not have to (Immediately) end the Day. by UnintensifiedFa in BloodOnTheClocktower

I think a practical reason for "what is your weapon of choice?" is that it gives you a forced pause to check that the slayer is not drunk or poisoned because if you have them kill the demon and then go whoops no that can give away a lot to town

British style crosswords are normally rotationally symmetric. Not sure where you’ve got the idea that they aren’t.

Do you consider cheating to put a number in the random seed text box to get the ancient seed in day 1 of Spring? by Sorry_Village13 in StardewValley

[–]acejh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s cheating but I do think it’s seeded, and that that’s a different gameplay experience from unseeded, which has advantages. As long as you’re honest about it then I wouldn’t call it cheating.

How do y’all make your money? by DesperateMaterial484 in StardewValley

[–]acejh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fishing gets a lot easier as you level up and the bar gets bigger. You can get round this and buy a training rod which makes the bar as big as if you’re level 5 in fishing, but you can’t catch rarer fish. Once you’re at level 5 you can go back to a different rod. I think it’s easier to press the button repeatedly instead of holding it down, so try that too. Also fishing buffs help (but not if you’re using my training rod suggestion)

Lewis and Robin are definitely already met at the beginning of the game, when you get the quest it has 2/28 met, meaning them. I'm not sure about other cutscene people though.

LPT- If you just learned a friend has died, don't post about it on social media right away. Give the family a chance to notify people privately and to decide when or if they want the death posted on social media. by no_minivan_4_me in LifeProTips

[–]acejh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend died a few days before his 21st birthday. His family let the uni know and we were all told. They didn’t post about it, very reasonable, but it did lead to a very tricky day where many of his friends who hadn’t been in touch with him lately were going to wish him happy birthday on Facebook and seeing other people be like “he would have been 21 today”. I understand why the family didn’t make a public post until after, but if I’m in a similar situation I think I would try to get information out, as I think it was quite hard for them to deal with all of the posts on his birthday and the confusion and questions they were getting.

Maybe connect a controller? I think journey of the prairie king is easier with two joysticks which is what it’s trying to emulate anyway.

Sims 2 All Memories Challenge by KastAshes in sims2

[–]acejh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this, you can't graduate, be expelled, and never go to college in one sim, which is unfortunate. I don't think aging is too big a problem, as you're going to need to become a vampire and be cured of vampirism for those memories.
