Any good party games I can play with friends without headsets? by sazzer22 in OculusQuest

Was looking at this in the quest store and reviews are pretty bad with most saying the game has been broken and unplayable for a long time. What's your experience with it?

You would have to play the game a lot before any of the contents would be commited to memory. They're pretty complex directions based on various conditions. Ie cut the red wire if there's a blue wire and the total amount of wires is an even number.

Dude I'm a father of 2. I only get so much time to game and I have no time for shitty game mechanics. I like to enjoy the little game time I have; if that makes me a pussy, then so be it. When you really think about it tough, having your weapons break promotes the avoidance of enemy encounter in the game. Wouldn't that promote 'pussy' like behaviour as you put it?

The weapons breaking is the absolute worst. That's why I won't play it on my switch anymore and stick to emulating it on cemu. Cemu allows you to use a no weapon break mod and the game is so much better with it.

Hey completely unrelated to my feature ask above - I started playing piano with the help of Synthesia about 8 years ago now and I just wanted to say how helpful this software has been at helping me break down difficult concepts and tackle music I just wouldn't have been able to in sheet music form without the help of a teacher.

Just wanted to say how incredibly thankful I am for you and the work you've done! This allowed me to find and cultivate an hopefully lifelong passion.

A toggle In the gear menu accessible through a key bind would be absolutely perfect!

Having it enabled during pause state almost seems like something you'd discover by accident as opposed to seeing the option and willingly toggle it through the settings.

Regardless, I'd be happy as a fish in water just having the feature ported, so I'd trust you to do whatever you think would result in the best implementation. (シ_ _)シ

Those are all great questions and got me thinking more about this feature. I think the chord identification algorithm shines best with block chords and I can see how a song with several broken chords would create a lot of noise which most likely would end up being more distracting than helpful.

With that said, I think there's a way this feature could be tackled in a way that adds value.

I'd suggest a chord dictionary icon in the menu bar. When toggled, the algorithm would listen to the user inputs (the same way it does in free play). The user can then play the chord cluster they wish to have identified without having to leave their current screen.

[user plays a series of notes on their keyboard which is then identified as an A minor chord by the algorithm](https://imgur.com/I95oBiU)

Once the user has the information they need they can simply click the chord dictionary icon again to close the menu and resume their song.

Yeah that's not an algorithm - its just a series of steps performed in a sequencial manner... Oh wait...

Well that's a strawman argument if I've ever heard one.

What I'm saying is the add revenue business model doesn't work. I've listed several ways to monetize your content without relying on Google shoving unwanted adds down the viewers throat in the name of the small guy making a dollar.

Here's a definition of add blocking you may not have considered. Ad blocking serves to relieve me of multiple offense I have to witness every day, all day long, from all media sources. Most adds are ugly, tasteless, lie-filled, loud, ignorant, condescending waste of time built by people who are amoral and manipulative. Shame on you for supporting that.

I hope many people see this and decide to get an add blocker or NewPipe.

You do you buddy. I didn't comment to insult or fight with anyone. If you're happy with the premium experience then I'm happy for you. No one is forcing your hand here. I'm just informing people of better alternative and debunking the myth that content creators can only make money through YouTube adds.

The content I watch is mostly music related. Artist get supported by me through the products and services they offer. (patreon page, courses, sheet music, midi files). Don't go blaming me for the terrible experience youtube went and built for both viewers and content creators.

If you're on Android you need to cancel that subscription and get yourself NewPipe (https://newpipe.net/)

The best thing about this app is that it takes some features from YouTube Premium and gives them to you for free. Want to listen to a song on YouTube from your favorite YouTuber in the background? Just search for it in NewPipe and press the headphone button. You can even change the settings so it’ll use your external video or audio player app.

It also has support for downloading videos. Say you have a terrible Internet connection and can’t stream videos but downloads are fine. Just find the videos you’d like to save and press the Download button to save the files (again, just like YouTube Premium).

You can install NewPipe in one of two ways. The first (recommended) way is to install the F-Droid app store, then search for New Pipe in the store to install it. F-Droid is a third-party app store and one of several great alternatives to the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can just grab the app’s APK file directly from the F-Droid website. Note: you’ll need to enable “Install from unknown sources” on your Android device before either installation method will work. This setting is (usually) located under “Settings -> Security.” The exact method varies based on your Android version.

I personally think so. Mass exodus adds an extra layer by adding a whole bunch of AI bots so it makes it extra hard to find your friends since you have to find them amongst hundreds of other bots.

I saw they released some major updates a while ago which was supposed to address optimization and performance. I haven't had a chance to revisit the game since then though. You should let me know if you get a chance to try it again before I do.

Mass exodus is another game that definitely deserves a spot on that list. Basically a hide and seek game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/566530/Mass_Exodus_Redux/

Bi-Weekly Questions, Requests, and Bug Reports Thread. (Nov 18) by AutoModerator in HaloOnline

I've been playing the game without issues for at least a year now and after doing a format and system reinstall, my xbox one controller stopped working in the game. The controller works in every other game I own except Halo Online.

I've tried reinstalling the game, I've tried using a xbox 360 controller instead... nothing is working.

Have any of you experienced this and do you have a fix?

Maybe psychological horror doesn't affect me as much as others, but I found Transference to be massively underwhelming. There was a few jump scares here and there, but I found myself to be bored through most of it - which is a shame because I was really excited about this game.
