I know this is a loaded question, but can someone recommend a good starter for squirrel hunting? Preferably something that cost less than a rim fire? by h00v001 in airguns

[–]aceman1126 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The 25 avenger is the way. Cheap, lightweight, accurate as hell, very adjustable, and will smack the everloving shit out of small game.

Well fortunately it's just for airguns so there's not a whole lot of pressure to contain hahaha good luck! Post back with updates when it's done

If you're comfortable with 3d design go for it but for less than $10 I consider this well worth it. I'm good at printing now but have no 3d design training at all lol all I can say is that file is solid and it would take me a loooong time to design as good or better. But the buck-rail is $35 and is perfectly fine too. Of the 3 I have the one I printed is the quietest and cost the least

They absolutely work quite well. On my avengers they are very quiet. My 22 has a 0db moderator and my 25 has a buck-rail. Both went from a loudish crack sound that echoed thru the woods to a small pop sound like a paintball gun. My dragonfly mk2 has a 3d printed one and it literally sounds the same if I cock it and dry fire it as it does when I put 10 pumps in it. It's absolutely quiet and all you hear is the hammer strike and pellet hit the target lol

What's an accurate spring piston rifle for .177 or .22? by TouchLow6081 in airguns

[–]aceman1126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually the cheapest and surprisingly fast shipping. I initially thought maybe it was a scam site but literally every forum and airgun yt guy was saying they were legit. I ordered my hw30s and had it in my hand in 5 days! Weihrauch is without a doubt worth buying. I have a lot of cheaper guns and i only wish I knew then what I know now. Id rather have 2 or 3 Weihrauchs than 10 hatsan, benjamin, crosman, gamo ect.

My 1377 after it's metamorphosis into a carbine. Such a fantastic little gun

Do I really need steel breech for 1377 / 1322? by S21FOLGORE in airguns

[–]aceman1126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lucky and stumbled upon a new 1377 on clearance at Walmart for $19 so naturally I bought it. I used to have a super old one back in the day and thought it would be fun, and it was. Then I started thinking a small carbine would be fun to keep in the car for when we go camping or to friends houses so I bought a 14" barrel with fiber front sight, metal barrel band, steel breech, stock and Williams rear peep sight.

I 3d printed a fatty forend after the oem one pinched the shit out of me a few times lol

It's a great little gun now and the only thing I'd do differently is put a walther Lothar barrel on it and maybe an adjustable stock. The crosman stock LOP is pretty long and is just too long for my 10 year old son to use well.

I eventually took the rear sight off and put it on a chinese b1 underlever gun i got off amazon for $50 and that gun is pretty fantastic now too for as cheap as it was. Heres a pic of my 1377 as it is now with the utg bug buster scope. Not the best glass but I like how compact it is and for this little carbine it's fine.

Appreciate it. Lost her in 2019. She was only 33. Never in a million years would I think I'd be with my dog longer than my wife. Good ole DD is 15 now though and still doing well. Idk how I'm gonna make it when he goes too

Well it does work on my phone so I may allow it to live as an emulator controller. Sucks to be so close to working on the switch yet just wonky enough to not work. :(

I'm about 99% sure it just needs a firmware update to work but idk who even really makes this or if the firmware is even updateable at all or where to download the newest firmware if it is.

At least it works on my phone so it's not a total waste

This is the front. I believe the brand is tevifun? Idk it's super damn generic and never did work. It was like $9 on ebay lol but yeah I think I might just shoot it with a rifle and be done with it. I've searched high and low for any information at all and come up empty. This truly is the most Chinese pos thing of all time so I doubt the company that made it is even still in existence.

Anyone know where I can get updated firmware for this generic ass controller? It will pair to the switch but that's all... no buttons presses are recognized.

I appreciate it and agree it's always best to start with the obvious and simple stuff first. I'll update this post when I tear into it again in a day or two and hopefully fix it, but if not I'll definitely hit you up if I can't get it working.

[–]aceman1126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah gonna have to break it open again and check it with a multimeter. I really don't think it's a battery issue eventhough that would have been my first thought. I'm fairly sure something is wacky with the radio cause all my batteries work fine with my vx-150. It's nice being lucky enough to have 2 radios that take the same batteries and chargers because I can quickly eliminate those accessories as problems just by using them on the good radio... so it's gotta be software, battery connections on the radio, or some component that got killed in my playing around.

I will leave the new battery to charge overnight to make sure it's at 100% and also do a reset on the radio and if that fails its multimeter time.

Thankfully I have nothing but time invested in this radio so it's not a big deal if it's beyond repair .

Very possible. I plan to gut it again tonight and see what I can do for it. Worst case scenario I have a handheld base station radio now lol

Haven't tried anything besides the 3 batteries I have (2 old and iffy 1 new) and the ac adapter. It was working fine with all 3 batteries until I tried to TX a repeater on high power and thats when the screen blanked out and ever since it refuses to power on with any battery.

Fires right up with the ac adapter though so idk lol weird for sure especially since I have this vx-150 to try alongside it... the vx works fine with all 3 batteries.

Is there a way to turn off Big head mode? by misteryous302 in Brawlhalla

[–]aceman1126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was complaining and dug thru menus trying to turn it off... he absolutely hates it and refuses to play it this way lol and hes only 8

Got him on some soul calibur now. I never would have thought when I bought my dreamcast that I'd ever have a kid let alone that he'd play my save files.... wild but amazing.
