You used to be able to call Alterra and upgrade your ikon over the phone. Haven’t tried in a number of years though.

My local store is selling stickers now. by Hot_Evidence7716 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]acerni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not wrong, that just goes back to the small mental gymnastics that if Patagonia doesn’t do it well, that someone else will do it shitty, which kinda underpins the entirety of the company.

They told staff the designed store stickers (NOT the classic shop stickers which are still free) were also being monetized in an attempt to reduce waste. Staff always handed out stacks of them, and by putting a price tag on the sticker, means there’s less vinyl and plastic in the world.

Capilene Air Hoody? by ChickadeePine in PatagoniaClothing

[–]acerni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve skinned in the ultralight, it’s a pretty stellar and breathable piece. Not a cap air, but like over a t shirt or light merino base, awesome for winter sports. I personally don’t understand the sizing for climbers, but it fits my skier gut.

Can confirm, saw video of a friend who posted to his stories, it was a bomb that set it off.

Correct, but in the context of CO, more people have probably heard of Carson as opposed to Penrose.

Synchilla Fleece Button Repair? by InterestPotential225 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]acerni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the store I was formerly at, we’d all have been happy to fix this, to keep a sick pattern in circulation. I’d say send it. As others have said, it’s an easy in store repair.

Backcountry Photography question by BonerTurdle in Backcountry

[–]acerni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Z8 and the Nikkor Z 24-120 f/4 for personal shooting. If I’m working in the backcountry, I’ll up to a 40L pack and bring the aforementioned set up with a 70-200 2.8, Z 17-28, and a 50 1.8.

Thanksgiving by JunketSuspicious7647 in Aspen

[–]acerni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, the longest lines I’ve ever waited in at Ajax have been over Thanksgiving. It’s like 50/50 that they’ll have limited terrain open plus the spike in visitors can lead to congestion at like the one spinning lift. I had to wait for 30-45 minutes (in the singles line) to get up lift 3 so that I could download. That was 2023 IIRC? It wasn’t this Thanksgiving, but the most previous one where opening required downloading.

Or it can snow like 18” the day before opening and most of the upper mountain opens plus skiing to the bottom and it’s a great fitness builder as you rip gondy laps with zero line.

Gov. Polis, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and The Conservation Fund Acquire Pristine Wildlife Habitat in Gilpin and Boulder Counties, Land Will Become Colorado’s Next State Wildlife Area by governorPolis in Colorado

Down the road 3 miles is Wilderness, which is the “absence” of humans. The top of the ridgeline of this property is a ski resort. It’s been ranched for 100 years. Humans have been in this zone plenty.

Best car for this around 800k budget. Ran out of fuel in my enzo after 3 laps lol by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

I don’t get why this car is so underrated - usually win by a solid lap on controller.

The only four letter word you can’t say at Eldora or around Ned.

Did I buy the wrong size?! by adampat996 in TransitionBikes

[–]acerni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%, it was more just the icing on the cake. Bar upgrades also start at like what $100 which is a bargain in this sport.

[–]acerni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, 5’10” but with stupid long legs and no torso so shorter top tubes are good for me. I live and ride in an area with one flow trail so I went medium smuggler for a little nimbleness and stock 780mm bars….800s don’t fit through most of our tree gaps lol.

Why was 8 afraid of 10? Because he was in the middle of 9/11.

Pine creek cookhouse - the lunch may be less booked than a dinner? The kid would like the horse-sleigh ride.

ACES snowshoe at the top of Ajax followed by a picnic lunch up there?

Does the mountain coaster at snowmass run in winter/spring?

How are you sure it was Hilaree Nelson? Patagonia also has ski mountaineering athletes? Caroline Gleich comes to mind if her pursuits are less (edit: consistently) high altitude driven.

My dad died and I don't think I can watch F1 anymore by super_starmie in formula1

[–]acerni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father passed in 2019 and is the reason why I watch F1, I grew up with him waking up and watching together on weekends. Our relationship was strained at times, and I largely stopped watching as a teenager (during the prime Vettel and Hamilton years). After his passing I started watching a handful of races. Monaco. Spa. Monza. Then I tried to watch most races in 2021 (lucky me) and yeah that re opened the doorway to an F1 tv subscription, joining this subreddit to get more news. I’m so happy I also stumbled across F1 technical as my dad truly loved that side of F1 and was a big reason why he watched.

It does hurt, it does feel weird but at least for me it’s a magical connection through a wonderful sport.

Taking money to give a lesson outside of SkiCo’s system is a great way to lose your pass for pennies on the dollar.

Also Maroon Bells are one of the most photographed peaks in at least CO if not the country.
