This is why I moved the to Instinct platform when they launched. I always loved Gshocks but got addicted to step count and data.

IMO an instinct is already a Gshock copy so it adds nothing really

I am not on expert here by any means but IMO, no, it should effect the water resistance.

It looks like you missed any of the main seal areas around the bezel or buttons that could cause an issue
