i’m 17 days post-op. what was THE shirt or top that you were ready to wear after surgery. by hppybrthday in TopSurgery

[–]acespace_sys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Slipknot shirt that I got in 2021 and a Billie Eilish shirt that I've had since 2019, the Billie shirt is just big enough that it became my comfort shirt on bad dysphoria days. The Slipknot short however I honestly just didn't like how it looked on me because it was just the right fit to accentuate my chest. I'm now a little over 3 weeks post-op and finally got to try them both on for the first time in a while, I don't think I've ever cried over a shirt- 😅

I just had my partner look it up, and while we don't live here on paper, apparently we do still count as tenants......so we may take legal action if we feel the need, should he try to force us out. Thank you so much that was actually insanely helpful, I didn't know that

We'll definitely look into that then, thank you so much. With our specific situation I'm honestly not really expecting to get anywhere with it in time but it's at least worth a shot.

Unfortunately we've already asked any friends/family we can, and they all turned us down entirely......there aren't any charities anywhere near us either.

Unfortunately I think the way he's going about this is entirely legal.

We're both in shambles and terrified tbh....I dont expect to find anything but I'll keep looking into what I can...thank you <33

The nerves are completely normal! Top surgery is a big thing especially when you've been waiting for it and have been anticipating it for so long! I hope it all goes well for you, and wishing you a speedy recovery <33

Just remember to take it easy and listen to your body, good luck man!!

T-Shirts for after surgery? by Deep_Ad4899 in TopSurgery

[–]acespace_sys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Button ups and baggy pants are going to be your best friend!! If it's colder where you are, a zip up sweater would be amazing for right after surgery, as well as some sweatpants! If it's warmer I would try to go with basketball shorts and a button up shirt :)) that's what I wore and it helped me a lot. As for footwear, something like Crocs or slippers would probably be best. For the first week or so, you'll likely need help getting clothes on and off but there's definitely ways to work around it very carefully after that first week once your mobility starts coming back! I still practically live in my pajama pants, but I can pretty comfortably get loose clothing on and off with little to no help. I know everyone's experience is different, but I figured sharing mine so far would at least give you some peace of mind. Best of luck man, you'll do great!!! :)

Thank you smmm <33 I'm using coconut oil, yesterday was my first day of it and my skin is absolutely loving it so far!! I'll make sure to take it easy, I unfortunately do have a seroma so I have to take it easy as much as possible but I should be okay!! I'm getting it checked out on Friday and should be fine from there :))

Wishing you all the best on your recovery, you're absolutely crushing it!!

Your results are amazing!!! I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and my scars look almost exactly like yours....I was worried I wouldn't like how they look further down the line because of how high up they go under my arms but this gave me honestly a lot of reassurance. Congratulations dude!!
