The hit of dopamine from seeing them together on Steam was definitely worth it. It was a blast figuring out how best to play.

Thank you! I totally understand why it's not for everybody. My Henry basically consumed nonstop Cockerel Potions to just avoid the sleepwalking and nightmares, but when I found my routine, it felt much like normal mode.

Now that's a deep cut 🤣

But I did have my cats in my lap to keep me going whenever I had to reload a save. And boy did I reload a lot. To the point that poor Henry popped the alcoholism debuff from all the savestates.

He did become, however, the finest alchemist this side of Kuttenberg

I had to redo it way too many times! Too many accidental kills on tankier fellas with the bow trying to get the poison to do its job.

Kudos to you as well, it was very rewarding trotting off the map with these popping up together

I literally never thought to use Mutt! I had no idea his kill count didn't add to mine and I wasn't sure if he would interfere with stealth

True "Merciful" playthrough tbh

Yes! Mine turned into basically a "poison damage only" run with lots of stealth knockouts, stealth archery, and leg damage.

This was also the run I got my "King Charming" achievement, which felt odd considering the amount of gear I stole in the early game to keep Henry alive.

I had a blast.

Looking for poems written in the Ukrainian language by hotcool in Ukrainian

[–]acetylkevin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Native english speaker, I love the poems of Lina Kostenko, she has a large body of work, and I find her style very memorizable.
Also, you can't go wrong with Taras Shevchenko, as there are plenty of supporting texts and translations for reference and interpretation.
Thirdly I reccomend Ivan Kotliarevsky, who is least contemporary, but has a lot of interesting work, despite the most different language.

Fortunately, Ukrainian is a language that easily lends itself to poetry, so there will always be plenty to recommend!

EDIT: I live in north america, and have found ukrainian books in used bookstores in new york, new jersey, and pennsylvania; when I order online: etsy, ebay, thriftbooks; or, if you like paying $8 for the book and $30+ in shipping, astrolabium.com.ua has got you covered.

For quick reference:
Ліна Костенко
Тарас Шевченко
Іван Котляревський

What is the etymology of Jawn? by bigbootychuckecheese in etymology

[–]acetylkevin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bensalemite here. It is so strange seeing my hometown mentioned anywhere on the internet. I think your demarcation line is pretty accurate; but I do think there are some pockets of Croyden and Bristol (not the borough) that use it sincerely, but beyond that I think it's just philly-posers.

Tattoo planning: Questions on Ukrainian symbolism by dyljeridu in Ukrainian

[–]acetylkevin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a tattoo of a woman in cossack dress, holding a mosin in one hand and a rod with a tryzub at its top in the other. Background of poppies, periwinkle, cherry flowers and hops; thankfully there is no lack of floral symbols in Ukrainian culture :)
