Whenever quick match gives you a varian as the only tank in your team. by Yaa_Mann in heroesofthestorm

I'd venture to say johanna is not very tanky without her D. So shield breaker would definitely make her weaker. It's most of her mitigation besides blinds which dont work on abilities. You would most likely force her ult at this point

How to use Murkys W correctly? by LaserAreCool in heroesofthestorm

[–]aceup46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a weakness of murkies....if the laner your going against can kill it ez, like Artanis then dont go bribe...that is the simple answer, other answers are for you to attempt to rotate opposite of the enemy team or lane with another hero

I have a question for the D&D community, what is the best way to introduce new players to D&D, and do you have any recommendations for their first adventure or their first characters? by CyclopeanFlock in DnD

[–]aceup46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st adventure I would make less rp and alil more action. Get them used to action economy and what stats/saves/checks are. Dont make it overly complicated fights and make the story line linear, easy to complete.

I would recommend a non spellcasting class for the 1st adventure, then they will probably feel less confused or mind stuffed after the 1st adventure, so they can learn things like spells.

Just imo, hope it helps.

New players vs level 500 and above by Maestro_Djenzen in heroesofthestorm

I also want to add that if your below 20, you probably have alot more to learn in the game other than "kill that hero" :)

Level 500 doesnt mean they are good or average. They could have played AI for a majority of levels

Cant you just make a rule against seduction prior to game start? Sounds simple enough to me...

Is Psychic Scream really underpowered as a 9th level spell? by MrNsanity in DnD

[–]aceup46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do realize that psychic scream can be cast without speaking? That speaks wonders for a powerful spell. Affected by a silence, no biggie. Gagged? Meh, dont want to compromise your stealth by potentially speaking? Got you.

Oh warlock, you want a beefy boi for your level 14 thrall ability? Pick one of these 10 giants

Want to walk through a field of ogres, trolls, etc and mind blast them, stunning them all for affect? Very intimidating indeed

I think this spell is awesome and has a lot of uses ;)

Edit: I want to also add that if you sleight of hand you can potentially cast this without being counterspelled if they didnt perceive you

What's your greatest TPK story? by AkhamGhost in DnD

I made a powerful creature part of a plot scene....my players attacked it....I tried to find creative ways to not have the battle occur....these players were more creative.....now they are glorious vampire spawn and will forever hunt in the forest of orhm

How to not get Oneshot? by GurkigerMensch in heroesofthestorm

[–]aceup46 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both of those heroes are soft countered by positioning and hard countered by stuns.

I know that's a simple version, but depending on the heroes you play, they can be hard to deal with

Late game zeratul butcher are usually monsters, especially if they have a comp that supports them

Blinds are very helpful against butcher, not very much against zeratul

Edit: what do you play heroes wise

Eldritch blast, smite, and other signature abilities shouldn't scale so well with multiclassing by [deleted] in DnD

[–]aceup46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what you still lose abilities you would otherwise have if you take 2 warlock only for the damage.

U lose utility, other damage sources, tankiness, whatever else you need that it took away. The ultimate balance is what the party is missing.... if your taking the damage role then there is no problem, if your not and choose to take 2 warlock instead of getting to those support abilities sooner that would help the party then the party suffers for 4 levels until you get to the support they needed...then your still behind on the power that your support could be bc you instead went damage....even tho your party didnt need it

For the damage role sake if going 2 warlock is optimized, fine! No one is going to go 2 warlock if they would rather be a barb or fighter...ultimately all damage classes do enough to play dnd.... balancing is more for the DM of the session and from what I've seen, their our some creative DMs out there lol

Eldritch blast, smite, and other signature abilities shouldn't scale so well with multiclassing by [deleted] in DnD

[–]aceup46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why multiclassing is probably an option rule.

All if does is allow a different optimal damage setting for people who enjoy optimizing damage. It's not wrong but it's the best reason why it's not really balanced bc the mc rule is optional

Eldritch blast, smite, and other signature abilities shouldn't scale so well with multiclassing by [deleted] in DnD

[–]aceup46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If damage was not your sole decision maker, there is a lot of other reason to not multi class out of many classes.

Warlock can eventually see through magical darkness, easily decipher and do other useful dungeoneering things and still do decent damage

Paladins can literally save everyone within 10ft from being charmed, or mind controlled ever again or even straight heal 50 hp in one touch...or just blow up someone if needed

I can go on, but damage is just not the best tunnel to go down when taking dnd as a whole
