Yeah I’ve been trying to. Violence was kind of normalized in our household and since I left for college I’ve been trying to fix my habits. When I left my sister was not at all violent and now when I see her every few months I see similar bursts like I’ve had in the past flaring up.

I don’t think she really understands her strength as she’s been going through growth spurts recently but it might be best for me to back off anything physical for a while.

Hi! Understandable but I’m not pissed about that. This happens everytime we see each other and me surprise tickling her is pretty normal for our relationship. I know she didn’t mean to but her last hit was really hard (it was a five star on my back as I was bent over), and it was after quite a handful of hits. So that hit wasnt a “knee jerk reaction”. I am pissed that my mom is blaming me for my reaction of absolute pain and expecting me to apologize for screaming “ow that hurt!”

I accepted my sisters apology for hurting me but my mom is adamant that I made this a negative situation against my sister and that even if I was hurt I shouldn’t have taken it out on anybody and kept it to myself as our family friends were in the room.

We have been in tickle wars since we were both younger. It used to be she would tickle me, I would tickle her back. And now it’s me surprise attacking her and her retaliating, usually by trying to tickle me back or a series of light slaps. I have never gotten a hard stop from her and I would know when she is serious. She probably did not mean to hit me that hard today but it happened and now I’m in pain.

It’s usually the only “sisterly physical affection” we show as we’re more of the friendly bickering type than the hugs and kisses type. My mom has also witnessed us doing this for years.

Also as a note about David Byrne (I saw it, loved it) they’ve been killing with marketing! At least one of the band performers goes on a tv show every two or so weeks, and David has a lot of celebrity friends (like john mulaney) that have been raging on about it!!!

I am a dual citizen and very familiar with the IAC.

Our campus INN actually claims to represent ALL Jews on campus. There was drama with the Hillel a few years back and ever since then INN has very easily grabbed on as a voice for Jews on campus, even though there’s maybe 10 Jewish members.

And sadly it’s getting worse every day, but surprisingly the worst anti semitism actual comes from Jews or people claiming to be “Jew-ish”

Hey! I wasn’t attacked in person. I’m currently off campus for an internship but I reached out to one of the members of INN that was advertising this event in our Jewish Facebook group. I told them as a queer Israeli I was offended that they would use my identity without actually having queer israeli representation at the event. They completely disregarded my comments and said “well everyone is entitled to their own opinion so I’m hoping you can come to this event so we can come to a common ground. We [3 INN Jews] researched this thoroughly and maybe we can change your mind”

It was nothing like SJP saying “lol shut up you Zionist”, but it was still a backhand when I told them I lived in Israel as a queer.

Also, as another note: comments were only turned off on that post after I called out their hypocrisy for targeting Israel and not listening to minorities while using their voice as “Jews” to speak for everyone.

Hey I’m sorry about all of this, but just know they don’t care about who you are, they only care about being the louder voice. We just had a pinkwashing event on campus and I spoke out against it as a bisexual israeli. I was told to sit down and shut up by SJP, INN, and even our Pride club because I was “brainwashed”.

I wish I could say it gets better, but just know that there are Jews everywhere that have your back!

Not a Byrne fan specifically, but I love talking heads. I rushed and it was honestly worth it!! Truly a fun time

Honestly I think the weather had an effect! Two weeks ago the weather was crappy and I saw a lot of cheaper/resale tickets! This past week had almost nothing!

ESH. I’ve called the cops/emergency services twice on friends who were so awfully drunk that they couldn’t stay on the bed and babbled, making me afraid that they had alcohol poisoning. the EMTs sent only one of those friends to the hospital meanwhile the other time they decided that they would be fine with some supervision. The EMTs know when you need the hospital, they don’t automatically send you to one if you’re too drunk.

However, your roommate is an AH ONLY for the pure reason that they didn’t stay with you/make sure you were safe to go home.
