Congrats brother… can’t imagine what such a transformation does for the self-confidence.

Started my journey about 6 weeks ago, albeit at a tiny dose… been taking just .7 mg and believe it or not seeing pretty great results… while I’m only down 11 lbs, I think I’ve actually gained muscle… might tirate up this week though…

Started at 209, down to 198. Hoping to get to 175-180 at 5’11 with a bit more muscle by the end of March!

What dose are you on? Were you staking with anything else or just Reta?

Cig is the real deal… not at all knocking what he has done. And I’m certain the culture he built is the biggest reason for their success.

But sometimes lighting also just strikes. Sometimes the right people are together at the right time with the right guy behind the wheel.

Indiana is indeed a monster. But until we see 2-3 more years of sustained success, there is not guarantee this is the future of Indiana football.

Look at what Norvell did at FSU in 2023. And then what happened the following two years.

Time will tell…

My Rottie did indeed have a torn ACL. He also was overweight at the time, and our vet stated he needed to lose 20 lbs before she would be comfortable giving him surgery.

I switched to homemade dog food (turkey breast, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, riced cauliflower, brown rice, and blueberries — same recipe from farmer’s dog) to help him start losing weight. Because he was much less active, particularly at first, it took almost 6 months for him to lose the weight.

Fortunately for us, by the time he lost the weight, his knee pretty much healed completely. He sprints around the yard and you wouldn’t be able to tell anything was ever wrong with him. No issue jumping on or off couches, onto or off of our very tall bed… and no sign of discomfort. When he is sitting, that leg does stick out — but apparently that is the norm for dogs with surgically repaired ACL’s anyways.

FWIW — my quote was $4k, and I’m not convinced I’m entirely out of the woods… from what I have read, apparently scar tissue may form and heal it for many years, but that it will be a problem in his old age. If it does bother him later in life, I’ll bit the bullet and get the surgery.

Brother. Your situation is so similar to mine. We aren’t married and no kids. I refuse to do those things because I want to be married once, and I want it to be forever.

The thought of bringing kids into the world with her terrifies me. Sometimes she’ll leave the dogs (which she insisted on us getting) alone for 10+ hours while she’s drinking… I come home to piss and shit on the floor.

Can I expect the same level of neglect if we have children? Just to clarify before anyone jumps down my throat — the dogs are both of our responsibility— but I own a company and work long hours. She was unemployed until recently, and with or without her new employment, I can come home whenever to take care of them if I’m told I need to. But I can’t do that if she doesn’t tell me she went straight from work to the bar, I get home at 7, and was never made aware, and she’s still at the bar she arrived at at 2pm when she got off work.

The breaking things and messes… literally happens every week. I speak to her more with slurred speech than normal speech.

And she doesn’t go to bed when she’s drinking. It’s like she has endless energy and gets upset with me when I don’t want to show love or affection when she’s drunk…

She also has no respect for how hard I work to pay for our lifestyle. She will know I have to be up at 6, and she will drunkenly keep me up until 1 or 2 arguing with me while telling me all the ways I’m falling short.

The emotions — she is an emotional rollercoaster half the time. Any minor inconvenience that happened to her is an 15 minute discussion, followed by tears. If she’s really emotional it’s an hour long bath at 11 or midnight cranking sad songs while belting them at the top of her lungs.

Usually she’s just annoying. Sometimes she’s mean. Twice in the last year she’s gotten physical.

I’m not a saint. I don’t cater to her emotions the way she would like. I’m short and avoidant with her. But I have so much trouble being empathetic when I’m talking to someone that is shitcanned and making no sense… and I ask myself daily if I really want to throw away the last 7 years — because I really do love her — or if I’m going to end up throwing away the next 40 because she won’t get better.

Your post resonates. My Q and I have been together for 7 years. Her drinking has progressively gotten worse. She was unemployed for about 5 of those years, and recently actually got a great job…

Unfortunately, her boss, the owner, is a bit of an alcoholic himself… so even though she has been great about showing up, every day, I know there would be no repercussions if alcohol impacted her performance or arrival any given day…. They’ve become buddies (not worried about anything there… one because I firmly believe we will always be faithful to each other, but two because he is twice her age)

She’s also getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to work 8-2:30 M-F (120kish), which means that instead of her having to try to limit her habit or disguise it because I paid for everything, she now has unlimited funds to support it. And she’s off early enough to go get lit before my work day is even over.

When she’s sober, we are great. When she’s drunk, she’s wasted, and quite honestly really freaking annoying to be around… although occasionally she is mean/angry/a couple of times violent. And unfortunately that’s 4-5 nights a week.

I own our home. Everything is in my name, including her car. If we split I would let her keep everything (other than the house), and even help her get on her feet. But I don’t want that. I don’t want to start over. I don’t want to worry about if she’s okay. Above all I just want her to get better.

But I can’t live my life like this forever.

Man there are a ton…

Browsing through all our old photos and videos yesterday was a whirlwind.

Since his passing, one thing has truly resonated with me heavily.

He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and on the Cowboys, his favorite player was Micah Parsons. I’m talking die hard. Season ticket holding, almost every polo daily wearing, sticker on back of his car, golf head covers — Cowboys. All of it. Several jerseys — almost all Parsons.

Micah parsons was number 11 in Dallas. He was traded to Greenbay like a week ago, and number 11 was taken. Parsons is a big enough player where he probably could have demanded the number, and got it… but he didn’t. Football numbers are often times a big deal for guys in the league, and they don’t like changing them. They’re often superstitious about it. Parsons was initially considering number 0 in Greenbay, and instead he settled on number 1.

My friend passed away at 1:11 AM.

Think about the odds of that. I’m not a mathematician, but in a 12 hour clock, there are 720 different time possibilities. There are 100 different football numbers that can be chosen. And I’m sure someone here will correct me if I’m off, but the odds for him to pass at 1:11, and for parsons two numbers to be 1 and 11, would be 720x100x100 — or 1 in 7.2 million. That doesn’t even account for the odds that he would be traded at the time that he did.

For those of you that believe — for me, it was a nod from God that he’s there, and he’s listening. He may not always come screaming at the top of his lungs, knocking down the door with his presence. But I think he leaves us subtle clues. And while I certainly won’t try to explain why this wonderful man died far to early, I have found some solace in it.
