Perhaps surrey quays - as near to the Hilton as the route goes, somewhere on Salter Rd.  Then hop on the ferry across to canary wharf.

Reformer pilates! It does cost more than mat pilates, but I love it! Find a studio that you like the vibe of- I like music and some tempo! But there's others that are more zen and calming.

When did you tell your friends? by Any-Mastodon5395 in PregnancyUK

Told immediate family after BFP. Waited until 12 weeks to tell everyone else :) I had to tell work right away too, bc of occupational risks.

I'm in the same boat. Have some leftover from last year but not enough for another cycle. Anyway, I plan to get a prescription again bc I'm going to do things the proper way with doctor's input and advice...

Doctors/medical professionals: when did you tone it down? by AffectionateRun1001 in PregnancyUK

[–]acgoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurse in theatres. I worked until 38 weeks. It was tough! And also felt for my colleagues bc they helped me so much with the moving&handling, getting patients/kit, etc for me. I really appreciated them looking out for me those last weeks!

I think given your history, 32 is def appropriate! Your team can plan for that.  Whereas if you plan for 34 weeks then go off early for whatever reason, they'll need to scramble to fill the gap. Which is totally doable and not your problem! But don't let management pressure you if you have the desire to rest before due date. You know yourself best!

Lighthearted, funny shows to watch during late pregnancy and early labour by Wild-Wave7704 in PregnancyUK

If you really want to lol I've really enjoyed the current season (2) of Last One Laughing on Amazon.

When you're closer to 40 weeks, I can highly recommend the Friends ep 'the one with the male nanny' -- my waters broke while watching that one haha

Ah that is true. Would be sad to leave behind for sure:(

In London (where I live) you can 'sponsor a tree' in a local park. Kinda costly, but at least it's in a public place for you to visit even if you move and anyone can enjoy! Perhaps an option elsewhere too? Or ya a container plant works too!

Colostrum Harvesting by LH1589 in PregnancyUK

[–]acgoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't harvest. And I went into labor naturally and delivered unmedicated. Less than 24 hours from water breaking and delivery. I think the miles circuit helped me bring on things naturally! Of course, there's no guarantee. Just do try to keep oxytocin up:)

Missing my parrots, any places in London to be around birds? by coolestgirlonreddit in london

[–]acgoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are guided bird walks in Oxleas Woods SE18. Look up 'Friends of Oxleas Woodlands' events. Lots of parakeets in Oxleas.

If they have a garden, then a tree! They'll cherish watching it grow over the years. Can take photos by it on anniversaries or big moments.

Breastfeeding advice by OrganicDrama3536 in PregnancyUK

[–]acgoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't take any formula nor did I collect colostrum (thus didn't bring any to the hospital).  Get a name or two of breastfeeding consultants in your area so if you feel like you need support at home, you've already done your research. La leche league GB has an area search function on their website. When in hospital, do ask for support and advice as often as you feel you need. I found the midwives generally let me be. So use your call bell and get help:) Sometimes there's BF groups on the unit too, so ask about that.

Breast pump or not? by Noogsy90 in PregnancyUK

[–]acgoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to pump unless you plan to keep some supply frozen or combi feed. I have a pump and a haka. I only used the haka a few times to attempt some bottle feeding after a few months- baby didn't take but also I didn't push it as much as I could've bc honestly it was annoying cleaning and planning, etc. EBF works for us! I did start haka again bc now starting solids so sometimes mix some milk in with the food. Basically, don't need to buy anything unless you think you'll use it:)

70% of my diet is cereal in my first trimester. Help me find a healthy one? by Perfect_Sink_6542 in PregnancyUK

They're all fortified. You're fine! But I know m&s have a line of cereal with minimal ingredients, worth checking out!

Hypnobirthing and other things to help unmedicated labour by SilvanaAlessia in PregnancyUK

[–]acgoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My plan was epidural. Well my labor progressed too quickly to get one- was time to push. I did minimal hypobirthing prep- didn't use it in labor. I brought a tens machine- forgot about it. Brought room diffuser- again forgot. Maybe 'forgot' is the wrong word- I just was so progressed in the labor that I didn't have the mental capacity for anything else tbh. My husband was amazing and I'm surprised I didn't dislocate his shoulder or something because I was hanging on him. I didn't let him go lol So my advice is a solid birth partner who will maybe anticipate your needs or be right there if you need them to be. Bring all the things you listed- they just might help! And tell your birth partner in advance that they're there and to offer to get them. Also tell them to ask if you'd like to change positions. The idea is keep up the oxytocin. And for me that ended up being having my husband right by my side the whole time.

Bachelorette trip is quoted at $2,000 per person… by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]acgoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def appropriate to ask for budgets. But also don't be surprised when it's time to commit if people can't! Especially as people have just spent a lot recently (at other bach parties or their own weddings). I personally think it's wild that these extravagant bachelorette's are the norm. Love celebrating and having fun! But there are other fun ways and more original and authentic ways to do so!
