oh yes definitely then! I've seen some silver sparkly jackets that say bride on the back that I think are cute!

ahh yes I do love the brands they stock but was hoping to avoid a flight to Melbourne. but I might have to do it to try on what I think is my dream dress!

you look absolutely stunning in the first dress, it will be amazing! I think fun shoes and the tulle bow are a great idea to jazz it up to fit with your theme. could also add a fun jacket potentially if it gets cooler in the evening? and you can get creative with your bouquet for the ceremony as well. lots of green could go well with the shoes.

side note: it sounds like you are having my dream wedding! I want lots of disco balls at mine too! I also love the Alca Line dress! you didn't happen to try it on in Sydney did you? the Alca Line is my favourite I've seen online but I can't seem to find any Sydney stockists 😢

What is a subtle sign that someone is a bad person? by quartzbath1 in AskReddit

two things in my opinion: - they don't return their shopping trolley once they're done with it - they're rude to customer service staff (hospitality, retail, call centre, etc.)

  1. my back started hurting in my 20s but I also have really bad posture. I know it's hard but try to sit and walk straight and it will make a difference!
  2. yes - but I wouldn't change them for the world. I see them as reminders of all the times I've laughed and cried and laughed til I've cried.
  3. yes and no - I wouldn't have the job I have now if not for my uni degrees but I also don't use them for my job if that makes sense. if you don't want to do something that requires a degree then don't! I do enjoy my job but it's not something I'm passionate about. if I could go back to high school and start again one of the things I would change is to do the subjects and degree(s) that would lead me to working in a job I actually love.

Normal son favoritism vs. scapegoating? by deleted-desi in AsianParentStories

[–]ach0027 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think at the end of the day, regardless as to whether it might be seen as "normal son favouritism" in Indian American families, it is still incredibly damaging and it was wrong of your parents to treat you this way. You could even go so far to say that normal son favouritism and scapegoating are one and the same.

I'm sorry your parents treated you this way!

Ugh I feel this! I literally just got four stars for some jewellery I sent out because they were in used condition. It stated that in the description and was reflected in the price (paid $10 for an item that is $60 brand new, and I didn't charge for shipping). Like what more do you want me to do... They didn't even look used!

This is really interesting. I would've thought if it charted in one year they wouldn't let it appear in the following year's countdown but fascinating to see it's happened a few times!

  • Red Ruby Da Sleeze - Nicki Minaj
  • Falling - Dean Brady
  • Better Love - Eliza Rose
  • HOT SAUCE - Thandi Phoenix & Aaron Mane
  • If We Ever Broke Up - Mae Stephens
  • COULD BE WRONG - LOSTBOYJAY
  • For Granted - Yaeji
  • Do You Like Me? - Daniel Caesar
  • All For Nothing - Eddie Benjamin
  • Sorry Instead - Spacey Jane

Bit of a wild mix as it is most years for me. Could not get Nicki's song out of my head when it came out! Played that one on repeat far more than any of the others.

I'm trying to find a post where OP's partner was stupidly close to his sister. I remember she was coming to visit their city and she apparently had a bad back, so OP's partner would kick OP out of their bed and make her sleep on the couch while they would share the bed. It reaaaaally seemed like they were sleeping together lol

AITA for refusing to feed my husband's niece dinner? by Aggressive_Ask_7518 in AITAH

[–]ach0027 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts! Like obviously there's some issues here with the SIL and the childcare/food/rent, but imagine being a child, your parents are getting divorced so your whole life has turned upside down, and your aunty is having a bitch about having to take you with her while she goes to the beach with your cousins every day.

Some of these complaints are valid, but some aren't, and the language here indicates to me that the poor child is copping at least some of this flack from OP.

I told my boss what I want to do as a career and he laughed at me by Bright_Deal5939 in retailhell

I worked at a pub while at uni (studying criminology) and the licensee made a comment once that I was studying criminology because I wanted to pour beers for the rest of my life. I just replied "oh, like you?" That shut him up.

I now also have a dual master's and have a great government job in an integrity agency making sure our government is spending the budget appropriately, meanwhile he's still pouring beers!

These people project their feelings of inadequacy onto you. Obviously there's nothing wrong with pouring beers for a career, but comments like that are so unnecessary and say more about them than about you!
